Detroit Pistons coaches preparing for NBA season, despite lockout
The Flint Journal reports:
While it doesn't appear as if the NBA lockout will end anytime soon, the Detroit Pistons are prepared just in case something drastic happens between the players and owners.
Like everyone else at The Palace, new coach Lawrence Frank and his staff are prepping for a season just in case the NBA leaves the courtroom before the 2011-12 season is wiped out.
In addition to their daily sessions at The Palace, Frank and his assistant coaches spent four days on a retreat in downtown Detroit last month getting to know each other better while exchanging ideas.
Frank liked the getaway because “there were no distractions, no cell phones, no one knocking on your door,” he said Thursday night at The Palace, where he helped serve a pre-Thanksgiving dinner to people in need from Oakland County.
