Default Knicks compared to the old Suns

I still don't understand why the old suns didn't win a title with nash johnson marion amare. They were definitely more talented across the board.

The current knicks are not going able to win unless D'antoni changes his playing style since we aren't getting an elite point.

Also we have no depth, the way I see it the only way we can win a title is if we trade amare for dwight. Which will not happen.

Don't give me the BS about how they are going to be too slow. Because that is the only way they can win. Melo throwing up shots from mid-range and 3. While Dwight cleans up the boards and defends the paint.

Chandler will play alongside dwight much the same as he will with amare its just that dwight is better in almost every way. Also dwight can just as easily play the 4 as the 5.

In summary I think we should have kept felton and traded amare for dwight. That would be a championship team, and probably threepeat.

A good example is a scenario where the magic were to have gotten melo there is no doubt in any sport enthusiasts mind that they would have won multiple rings.

Of course the suns realized this a few seasons ago and brought in SHaq but it was too late. Shaq was old and the rest of the team was battling injuries and fatigue.

obviously dwight is off the market now and so the knicks will wait and see what happens with the current roster and will probably reach this conclusion next summer

They didn't win because D'Antoni was the coach.

Bottom line is,the guy could care less about defense.Even when he said he did last year,it was all a front. He didn't start calling timeout and yelling at the team over defense until players started calling him out in the media. Much like my Jets with Schottenheimer, D'Antoni is our an anchor for this team. You can't win without defense.

exactly my point. I don't understand why knicks can't have a farm system and play defense. Just imagine how good they could have been just by keeping their draft picks and getting a balanced coach with a normal system.

This isn't the MLB you can't just throw money at random players until you hit the jackpot...

Why can't you get a new coach and whin with two of the best players in the league? This isn't the MLB...I agree. This also isn't the NFL either where you build your team through the draft like the Packers. That's not how today's NBA works. While your wasting years trying to "grow from within", large market teams are gobbling up talent and doing in one summer what you worked for for 3-4 years. It would have taken us 3-4 years minimum to win with Chandler and Gallo as our core. Especially since we weren't losing that bad,so our draft picks weren't top 5. You said this isn't the MLB yet you mention a farm system. The D league has not produced many big time contributors which is why they discussed and made change to it in the negotiations.

Yea but Shaq WAS acquired through trade and so was Pau.Besides, Kobe was not drafted by the Lakers. He was drafted by the Hornets and they traded for him. The only reason Kobe was available so low was because he was a HS player and it wasn't as common to take risks drafting HS guys. Theres no more HS players and the one and done guys come into the draft with tons of hype already. Besides, you're talking about 2 teams and the Thunder haven't won anything yet.

I guess I am mainly talking about the thunder but they WILL win very soon, unless there is some kind of major injury to their core

Well the same could be said for the Knicks. We've been together for less time than they have. Not saying we are in line for a ring but the Thunder are an up and coming team just like we are.

Yes but they are a younger up and coming team with better overall players. It's really just a matter of opinion but what really sets them apart from the knicks is westbrook, durant and ibaka nonexistent injury history
