Lee seemed to be calling out teammates when he said after the loss to the Clippers, "We got to come ready to compete at every position. As long as we do that, we'll have a chance to win every ballgame. Sometimes we have stretches we don't compete as much as we should. I'd be lying to you if I said I wasn't frustrated right now."
WHY ISN'T HE STARTING??????????????????
I am losing all confidence in Isiah, not to mention some of his lame speak:
Thomas will likely keep Jared Jeffries in the starting lineup for now and David Lee on the bench - a curious decision considering Lee's emergence.
Shockingly, Thomas considers Lee no more an offensive threat than Jeffries. "I think they're both the same offensive threat, which is not much," Thomas said.
Is he kidding, Lee can hit the short jumper but have told him not to, Lee score a double double every night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He has his guys working with Curry but he made a comment:
Thomas said Curry will adjust to passing out of the double-teams before season's end.
"That's why I'm here today, honestly," Curry said at practice.
"I was never known as a great passer. I just have to try to make the right play. This is all new to me. I'm learning on the fly, trying to do the best I can."
This guy has been in the NBA for 5 years!!!! Is he kidding? What has he been doing, sitting around collecting pay checks because he's tall?
Our future as a basketball team is with Lee and Frye. Lee is going to bolt from the Knicks as soon as he can for a huge payday from another team like the Lakers or Miami were he will be a star!!!!!
He didn't EXACTLY call them out. He only pointed out what has been said on this board for the past month. They have to go out and play, play HARD. I remember Q did something like that last season DURING a game and the announcers picked it up. But, if it's coming from the wrong player no one will pay attention. Zeke preaches that philosophy all the time to them. One key player has to say it. I won't mention him by name though. Even though I think it's long over due for him to do it.
David Lee Finally Stepping up, he's going to take a good role as leader if he keeps it up.
Good for Lee, but it just shows the sorry state of the Knicks when the leader is a second year player on a team of overpaid veterans. I am sure Starbury just loves being called out by Lee, somehow I think that will not make him play any harder, just make him more disgruntled.
Lee, Frye, Balkman, Nate, Q, Jefferies, Collins and maybe Crawford.
So basically they really need to find a good PG that has the correct mentality for the position. Is Collins that guy......I doubt it, I think he will be a serviceable backup for both guard positions and no more.
I just don't see Curry ever morphing himself into the second coming of a Reed/Ewing star center who does more than just score around the basket.
Larry Brown was trying to turn Crawford into a PG and that was a losing proposition. He's a 6th man in terms of instant points off the bench. He just doesn't have the mentality to play fundamental all around basketball.
To me anybody who doesn't have fundamentals down is a bench specialist.
Every player has to be able to hit the short jumper and have the basic skills and understanding of the right way to play. Larry and now Zeke is doomed because of too many players with too many deficiencies.
