Things you hate about the beginning of a new season
As opposed to the usual things you love about the start of a new season.
I'll start
-renewed hope/exagerated expectations for players/teams that don't have that much promise. Also believing what happens in the first few weeks will continue for the year(I.e. player X averaging 32/8/5 on 50 FG% when they've averaged 25/7/3 for their career)
for instance: Knicks fans thinking they have a chance at a title/believe Carmelo will finally turn a corner and become an MVP type player or Lakers fans believing Kobe will somehow go back to old form and put up 30/5/5 while being a top 3 player

I don't know about you guys, but I love when that Joyner guy compares Durant and Lebron at his age every year and talks about how he's surpassed him before eventually shutting up

The overreactions to good or bad starts by teams and players.
You know if the Lakers get off to something like a 9-1 start and win a handful of those games by double digits, people will flood ISH with threads about the Lakers breaking the Bulls 72 wins record and how no one can stop them. And, on the flip-side, if they get off to something like a sluggish 6-4 or 13-7 type start, a completely different group of posters will overreact and start "Lakers are overrated" thread.
And you can probably plug in Heat and even Thunder for Lakers in that paragraph.
One thing that I think is going to bug me as a Thunder fan is waiting to see what Perry Jones is going to be for us this year. I don't expect him to get many minutes the first month or so of the season. I think Brooks will probably try and bring him a long slowly. There may be some nights he only gets a minute or two at the end of a quarter to prevent someone from getting into foul trouble and other nights he only gets 7-10 minutes in a weird spot, and getting a gauge on how he can help the team later in the season won't be easy.
I hope he can eventually be a 12-15 MPG player by February or March and give OKC the ability to throw a scary athletic front line of Durant-PJ3-Ibaka at teams.

Yes, because LeBron was sooo much better through 5 years
Durant: 3 top 5 MVP's, 2 top 2 MVP's, 1 all star MVP, 3 scoring titles, 3 ALL NBA 1st teams, 3 All star appearances, 1 ROY, 5 playoff wins, 1 Finals appearance
LeBron: 3 Top 5 MVP's, 1 top 2 MVP's, 1 all star MVP, 1 scoring title, 2 ALL NBA 1st teams, 4 all star appearances, 1 ROY, 5 playoff wins, 1 Finals appearance

Give me Lebron. Much more productive and a better defender, and a better passer.
