Ryan Anderson shines on Day 1 of NBA regular season
CBS Sports reports:
News: Orlando F Glen Davis lost the starting battle with Ryan Anderson for the power forward spot, and did not respond with a strong performance to change coach Stan Van Gundy’s mind. In Orlando’s 97-89 loss, Davis scored six points on three-of-nine shooting in 19 minutes. He also had five rebounds, two turnovers, a steal and a block.
Analysis: Davis was badly outplayed by Anderson in the game, and likely did not do much to earn himself more playing time. Anderson provides the Magic a more well-rounded skillset, and Davis’ struggles won’t do much to alter their thinking. He’ll likely shoot better moving forward, but as long as he is relegated to the bench, Davis’ value will likely be limited. Don’t overreact to one game, but keep an eye on how he is used moving forward when determining whether you should still go with him moving forward. He is a low-end starting Fantasy option at F until he becomes a starter.
