quite frankly they should retire Larry Browns jersey before any of the players ... without him , they wouldn't of got out of the division.

This. Rip was one of my favorite players when he played on that Pistons team, and a really good player, but not jersey in the rafters type good. Billups got that FMVP and Big Ben was basically the face of the franchise for that time period.

If the Miami Heat can retire Jordan, the Pistons have zero reasons not to retire the entire starting line up.

Billups, Prince, Big Ben are absolute no brainers

Rip and Rasheed should be retired as well

All three should be retired by Detroit. What that team accomplished is so rare in NBA history (no consensus superstar championship) that when added to who they beat to do it (Shaq-Kobe Lakers), those jerseys should be memorialized forever for Detroit fans. I might add Prince to that list, as his defense on Kobe was great.

I may have to respectfully disagree with such a notion. I think Rick Carlisle deserves an awful lot of credit for the job he did in Detroit as well. It was under Carlisle's watch that Detroit earned their first division crown in a decade ('02) and then reached the conference finals the following year ('03).

Undoubtedly, Larry Brown brought something tremendous to the table and played a significant role in Detroit's success, but I admit I'd have been a little curious to see what Carlisle could have done with his Pistons in '04 with the huge addition of Rasheed Wallace up front, as opposed to relying upon the 36 year old Clifford Robinson, as Carlisle did in his two years at the helm.

Detroit should bring Rip back before retiring his number. What's he doing nowadays?
