Default Does this year change how you look at Brady vs. Manning?

Brady goes down, they win 11 games.

Manning goes down, they win 1 game.

It's at the very least intriguing and worth discussion.

Nope. Just shows how good Cassel is. Him doing well in KC the next season just proves it further.

I think Indy would have likely been a below .500 team WITH Manning this year

and now that Peyton has a serious injury and could potentialy never play again, I view Brady as a much better QB than Manning CURRENTLY.

You forgot the part where Brady throws for over 5,000 yards and one of the greatest seasons in NFL history, leading the Pats to top seed in the AFC. What has been shown is that Indy was ridiculously overdependent. We discovered that all those years of Manning calling the plays left the team unable to make the adjustment. Not to mention, the Colts are bottom-6 in both yards allowed as well as points permitted. And lastly: Bill Belichick vs. Jim Caldwell. When you go 1-15 it's not about one guy, it means your whole team is terrible. The loss of Manning just left all the problems to be exposed.

Not really. I always thought Manning was the better QB to begin with

Colts depended on Manning more than the NE Pats did. System in place.

Doesnt change how I look at either QB tho. Nor does one benefit or get boosted from it in how I rank the two.

Cassell didn't play well the next year. It was his second year where he was decent.

Based on what? We've won 10+ games for years now....had a healthy cast of players heading into the season..... and a pretty easy schedule.

It sure does.

Now, when I think of Brady vs. Manning, I think Tom vs. Eli.

The Colts has been a poorly constructed team since Harrison and Edge. Its built around Manning solely. Its not built to have anyone else run the show. The defense is built to play from the lead. So that team being terrible without Manning isnt shocking. Nothing changes in my eyes.
