The more you think about it, it makes absolutely no sense to not fire em all at the same time if you're letting Caldwell go. Apparently basically the entire team has stood behind Caldwell, not so much the Polians. Caldwell's probably going to be back.

Fisher made sense with Polian here, they're somewhat friends and share a lot of the same philosophies. Polian being gone makes that a lot less likely.

Pretty shocking, but I can see why. Manning has been hiding his recent incompetence for awhile.

Edit: Caldwell fired as well.

Kind of shocking they're seemingly completely cleaning house but I'm not upset about losing the Polians.

I am kind of surprised about the Angelo decision. This is probably the first time in a few seasons where I haven't wanted to see JA get fired. He has missed out on a number of first round picks but has found late round gems. But he hasn't been afraid to make a big move and make his team better. The trade for Cutler and the signing of Peppers were huge moves that made the team go to the NFCC game last season and had this team at 7-3 and playing like a top 5 team before Cutler's injury.

I'm glad Lovie is staying. I think he's a terrific coach and gets the most from his players. Hopefully with this move it means contract talks can be renewed with Forte. Sign him longterm. Draft a stud in rd. 1. And maybe retool the defense. This team is built for a championship and they need a GM that can take him there.

Notable 1st round picks -

2011 - Carimi, injuries in college and now
2008 - C. Williams, injuries in college and bad as a T. Played well as a LG
2007 - Olsen, had a connection once Cutler arrived but was expendable when Martz came onboard
2005 - Benson, off field distractions and couldn't handle the workload in Chicago
2004 - T. Harris, his best selection, at one point I felt was the best DT in the game
2003 - M. Haynes and Grossman, Haynes a total bust, I still love Sexy Rexy
2002 - Columbo, injury prone in the pros

McKenzie out of GB wouldn't be a bad choice. Learning what he did there and how that team has been built would be a nice pedigree to bring to Chicago. Plus stealing him from a divisional rival makes him more enticing.

Aaaaaaaand if we could get Polian, I mean, that would give the fans, I believe, a lot more confidence in our team. That guy knows how to surround his star with the talent they need.

Polian is an egotistical retread that built a 1-win team minus Peyton Manning. Please no.

Bears need someone from an organization like the Packers, Saints, Ravens, Steelers, etc. Teams that tend to have the best drafts every year.

Tired of wasted high round picks.

How hard do you work at it? Or does it just come natural?

Bucs leading candidate right now is Mike Sherman. They're also interviewing the Titans DC sometime this week.

I would give my left arm if the Bucs would wise up and bring back Tony Dungy. He would be THE best fit for this team. I know there's less than 0.01% chance of that happening, but if the Glazers would swallow their pride & throw a ton of money at Dungy, who still makes Tampa his home and is still very active in the community, then it might happen. But the Glazers are idiots and they wouldn't be smart enough to do that. It'd make the team improve over night and the ticket sales would go through the roofs. /wetdream
