they might as well, he doesnt fit in well with their offense....AJ is more into slowing the tempo of the game down and playing half-court offense, as they do/did in Indy....they should look to move him to Spurs or Pistons (teams that still play half court offense)
AJ doesn't slow down the tempo, he brings it to a grinding halt. The Mavs still like to run when they have a chance, but they also have their halfcourt game. They've been doing that since Avery took over. And AJ's just kills any momentum they have when he comes in to run the team. I like his defense. And his shooting percentage is terrible.
At first I thought we got the better end of the deal but as of now It seems like we got robbed. Also, hows Quis doing for the pacers? Havent really been following them.
Daniels is doing OK, nothing too spectacular, i expected a lot from him when he got traded over to indy...as of now, he basically made our bench MUCH stronger, having Daniels, Granger, Sarunas and Armstrong come off the bench, really helps the starters
To be honest, if we could get boykins i'd love to see it happen. Something envolving earl and nareja would be nice, we need some help in PF as croshere doesnt fit our defensive system, nor does AJ like him.
But yeah whatever happens it's not going to make a whole lot of difference to our team when johnson isnt a priority.
BTW, we got the much better of the deal. Quis was going nowhere, you knew once AJ played him at the point that his days in Dallas were numbered. Armstrong is heading towards his grave, and powell is raw.
Croshere has been a disappointment but he's an expirer so no big deal there. And Quis just wasn't going to get burn under Avery, and at this point is a poor man's Josh anyway. Expected more out of AJ, at this rate keeping DA would've been better. The one part of the trade I guess I regret was losing Powell. He was a decent, hustle player backing up Dirk last year. Would've like to have kept him.
I feel bad for armstrong. The reason why he didnt retire this year was to win a championship with Dallas and he never did. Now he sits on the pacers bench being a cheerleader and clapping a whole bunch. It stinks. The guy was awesome.
As much as I dislike the flow of offense when Johnson enters the game, I think he's just more suited for east coast style of play. Maybe he'll prove useful against eat teams but I think we should trade him.
You all are going nuts, he isnt going anywhere. He is a great defensive PG and him as the third PG off the bench is a tremendous luxury. You seem to expect him to be an all star, which he of course isnt going to be. That doesnt mean he cant contribute. I guarantee you there will be games later in the season that he has to play big minutes because of injury and will end up really helping the team.
Boykins? No way, we dont need that little no defense midget on our team. We dont need scoring, we need passing and defense.
