Default Landry Jones staying in school

Redskins fans can relax.
Quote:
“I want to accomplish the goals that I set before I got here, and there is still a lot more to do,” Jones said. “I want to make sure I’ve exhausted every effort in that area. And I want to be a senior. I enjoy being at OU and with my teammates and look forward to graduating with the guys that were in my class when I got here.”

Jones is already Oklahoma's all-time leader in both passing yards (with 12,389) and passing touchdowns (89). He has started 38 games for the Sooners, posting a record of 30-8. Jones quarterbacked the Sooners to both Big 12 and Fiesta Bowl championships in 2010.

Despite those accomplishments, Jones' draft stock fell late in the 2011 season as both he and the Sooner offense struggled in the wake of All-American receiver Ryan Broyles' season-ending injury. In the final three games of the Sooners' regular season, all without Broyles -- and against Baylor, Iowa State and Oklahoma State, not exactly a defensive murderer's row -- Jones totaled no touchdowns and five interceptions, while averaging just 6.6 yards per passing attempt.

Good decision. He did nothing over the last half of the season that did anything but hurt his draft status. He can use another season. Will still be behind Barkley imo, though that can change. That's still probably Top 10 status.

I doubt it, but smart decision to come back. With the group of wr's he has coming back he can do some damage and work on his game. He was a bit lost without Broyles. Coming back, putting up huge numbers for the entire year will do him good.

IDK...he still would have been a top-15 pick this year

if he does jump to #1 overall that would be worth it for him..but losing an entire year's salary to jump up to just somewhere in the top-10?...IDK

I'm cool with it though...Sooners should be strong next year

Broyles declared though, he will not be returning...

He'll probably be the 3rd QB taken behind Barkley and Tyler Bray...still top 10-15 though.

Bray? Surely you jest. Is he the qb from the Vol's or is this someone else?

If both came out today, with the way their respective seasons came out? I doubt it.

Yes the Vols QB, and no I'm not joking.

If he has a good Junior year he will be a top 5 pick, he is a proto-typical NFL QB, Great size (6'6') and a great arm.

As of right now, he's mocked in the top 5 of next years draft on almost every site.

It's not his fault he was injured and the Vols were garbage last year.

In fact, a few sites have him going #1 overall.
