Default Usc Beat Michcigan...

...How sad I am so pissed. NOT. I was hoping USC would win. With this win today this shows us all who is the better team. USC. Michigan is good but if USC played OHIO STATE I think they could have beaten them.

I agree, USC would have put up a better game than the one I think Florida is going to give Ohio St..

USC > Florida IMO

But USC didnt deseve it after they laid that egg to UCLA,
So now we are going to get a BLOW OUT in the BCS title game.
That is why CFB needs a Playoff system.

USC>Florida? Possibly. People are also still saying that LSU > Florida even though the Gators won head to head. I guess I'd rather have a team that knows how to win games against unranked opponents than look pretty every other game.

The thing about USC is that Pac-10 teams are starting to understand how to play against them. Whenever USC plays OOC, they usualy crush there opponents. Last 3 of 4 losses have come to Pac-10 opponents and the 1 OOC loss came against Vince Young in a miracle. USC had a bigger target on their back than Florida this year.

USC's unranked opponents > Florida's unranked opponents

USC's OOC schedule > Florida's OOC schedule

1. Ohio St.
2. USC
3. Michigan
4. Florida

IMO

I was talking about how USC lost to two unranked teams this year. Great teams find ways to win games they should even when the **** hits the fan like what happened to USC against Oregon State. But I'll give you that when USC is on, they are the second best team in the country. They just didn't find ways to win two games that they should have. and that is why they aren't playing for the title. Maybe they should factor the size of the target on their backs in the BCS formula.

LOL....It would certainly be an upgrade from the current BCS formula.

Anything would be an upgrade. So are you in favor of a playoff system? If so, what kind?

Top 4 teams + 1...

in that scenerio, we would have had...

1. Ohio St. VS 4. LSU
2. Florida VS 3. Michigan

Winners play eachother in the following week. USC would have not gotten a shot but its still better than what we have now.

Whats your proposal?

I used to be a plus one kinda guy as well. But after watching the Boise State game I think they deserve some kind of way to get in the game. I think the same goes for Louisville. So we've got to get it to eight teams.

I like the idea of first dropping that recently added twelfth game.
The 6 BCS Conference Champions and 2 at-large bids for those mid-majors and top teams that didn't win their conference. Use the BCS rankings to seed the playoffs and then get ready for two weeks of great games. They should even use the current BCS bowls only for the playoffs so they don't disrupt the current system.

Kind of how it might look this year.

1 Ohio State vs. 14 Wake Forest

5 USC vs. 6 Louisville

2 Florida vs. 10 Oklahoma

3 Michigan vs. 8 Boise State

LSU is the only major team that gets left out but they have no excuses because they didn't win their conference and were unfortunate enough to be a playoff contender in a year when Boise State went undefeated.

Yeah, I like the way that looks, the only problem is that its almost a crime to include WF and leave out LSU. I know LSU didnt win their conference, but I dont think any ACC should be able to participate in a NC tournament.

why not have a freaking 8 team playoff instead. they can probably add a couple of games and make more money. and use that money to give a modest stipend to the atheletes and i bet they won't mind the possiblity of having to maybe play an extra couple of games for the year and will probably keep them from having to fake work at construction companies over the summer.

A serious case of turnoveritis hit them pretty bad against Florida and didn't too a whole lot against Auburn. Right now they may be the second best team in the country but over the entire season it was down to Florida and Michigan for a reason.

Yeah, I know what you mean. But what kind of system can be set up that will work year in and year out as conferences wax and wane in power?
