Forward Juwan Howard Jr. has transferred to the University of Detroit.
The son of Miami Heat forward and former Michigan star Juwan Howard left Western Michigan's basketball program last month. The 6-foot-6 Howard averaged 9.3 points last season for the Broncos.
Detroit spokesman Mitch Wigness says Howard has enrolled but must sit out a year because of NCAA transfer rules. He will be eligible to play for the school at the start of the 2012-13 season.
Not to repeat myself, but UDM has potential to be a fun team to watch very soon. Ray McCallum is supposed to be teaming up with Doug Anderson this year. Do yourself a favor and take a look at Doug: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GCsZZ5wzMg

and ive seen that guy play before rake, he lit my schools team the **** up
In high school? Can I ask where? To be honest, in high school I mostly remember him just chilling in the corner, waiting to get a running start on a back door lob or tip dunk opportunity. Wasn't super versatile, but he was very entertaining.
You know you're getting old when guys you remember watching in college have sons going to college. Glenn Robinson's son's going to be at Michigan next season, that's going to be surreal.
Speaking of, Michigan's been putting together some really nice sleeper recruiting classes the last couple years and they're apparently the frontrunner for Mitch McGary. They're about to be a force.

nvm, I was thinking about some other athletic black guy that went to Mott high school, not the community college. my fault

One can only hope. I heard McGary was considering Michigan, but I didn't hear they were the frontrunner. Do you have a link where I could read more? You speak of Glenn Robinson's kid and you're right, it makes us all feel old. But so does watching Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jordan Dumars (both of whom also play for UM). And rounding out the family connection, Al's brother Jon Horford is on the squad as well.

if he goes to college.
by 2012 draft, he will be one year removed from HS graduation, and may be eligible for the draft.
