Default Is Kobe Bryant really shooting the ball too much?

I'm not making a comparison but I'm just saying that up to this point Kobe is averaging 32ppg on 25.1 shots. The 93 championship bulls had a player by the name of Michael Jordan who averaged 32.6ppg on 25.7 shots. That's virtually the same efficiency.

Are Gasol, Bynum and who ever else u think should have the ball more really not gettin passed to?

I don't think so. This myth seriously needs to go. His teammates just stinking it up, that's all I see.

At the rate that he is shooting he is more effective than both Pau & Bynum. Guy is just on a real hot streak, keep shooting that rock. If he has a couple of low fg% inefficient games, i say go back to feeding the bigs.

his teammates are playing soft, i mean some of his shots he should dish off. but i don't think he's terribly over shooting. Just a tad.

Kobe needs to work a lot harder for his shot at 33 than he did at 26. He is playing really well right now but it is irresponsible for Mike Brown to demand so much of him this early in the season. He is already playing hurt and the chances of him breaking down if he continues this pace are very real.

Tell Pau to play in the post instead of camping midrange or at the 3 point line. He keeps telling everyone who wants to listen that he's been practicing on the long ball all summer. Fuck that shit. We know you don't like to bang down low but that's your job. Nowadays the only time Pau scores in the paint is when Kobe does a backscreen and Fish throw an alley-oop pass to him.

Kobe is the ONLY perimeter scorer.

All bailout shots go to Kobe.

It's sad trying to see the other Lakers aside from Kobe trying to create their own shot.

MJ also had a guy in Pippen who could get everyone else involved (and also get MJ easy looks).

When Kobe is scoring/shooting this much, there is no playmaker on the floor or on the bench for the Lakers. Kobe has to be more careful of the balance between shooting too much/too little, because how much others are involved depends a lot on him. If he had a legit PG on the floor (or a point forward), his responsibilities would be different (ie. just score) but the Lakers don't.

Yes he is, but it is not his fault. Just see how hard he works to get a shot off...he is so aggressive...he is strong and skilled enough to get a good look any time he is in the post. The bigs need to be that aggressive. They need to fight for position and earn their points. It's like they get the ball in the post, dribble dribble dribble, then pass it back out...when they get it back, they are in the exact same position and end up missing the shot or giving it to someone for a bailout shot. Make a damn post move for crying out loud. WORK for your shots.

Oh...and the way Kobe scores just looks selfish no matter what.

KD can have a 12/24 shooting game and it would be from getting open looks off Harden/Westbrook penetrating, getting in the break a few times, then a few isolation scores. If Kobe shoots 12/24, half those shots are with a defender right in his face, couple of them over double/triple teams, most are on isos, but he makes them...because he's Kobe...and no one else takes those shots. Guys can take the same number of shots but one can come off way more selfish than the other, but that's just part of Kobe's amazing skill set.

MJ taking 25 shots looked a lot less selfish than Kobe taking the same amount. He made his moves quicker, got better looks generally (partly due to playing with a point forward like Pippen), better off the ball and so on.
