Didn't Alex Smith have a different offensive coordinator for like the first 5 years of his career or something? That has to factor in a QB's lack of progress.

If the 49ers win it all this season and Alex Smith was the starter for 19 of those games then he would have done as much for the 49ers franchise as Aaron Rodgers did for the Packers. And that is winning a Super Bowl.


first off the OP said if he makes it to the super bowl. second of all, by your standards Tony Eason, Ken O'Brien and everyone else who has no super bowl wins has done as much as Dan Marino. Trent Dilfer has done the same for the Ravens as Peyton Manning has for the Colts. Wake up people
