Totally. Davis the only player I'd take over Val in this draft. I definitely wouldn't be against trade down and grabbing a player like Lowry who is a starter in this league. IMO, this is a draft deep in rotation players. At #14 or 16 I think you can still grab a player that could give you a solid 25 minuntes per game for years.

BC said he was offered a higher pick (#2?) for a piece he wasn't willing to part with (val?).

I wondered if the article was a little misleading.

I always focused in on G - Lowry - but Houston has the rights to the guy they call D Mo - a Lithuanian Power forward. D Mo played in Italy as far as I can recall... but does this D Mo have ANY relationship to playing with Val ??

Anyone know ?

I dislike trading 8 for 14 with only Lowry in play - but I am begining to wonder if its a package.... 8 Plus something for 14 plus Lowry plus D Mo ??

I speculated the Raptors could sit tight an wait on 14 and 16 (both picks) bt I dont know if this Dmo is in play now...

Rivers around at 14? Possibly...

I'd be shocked if Rivers is still there at 14.

I may be wrong but I think yer talking about Donatas Montijunatas (or something like that). I remember that the year before he declared he was pegged as a future lottery, possibly top 5 pick guy. People were in love with his SF like skills for a 7 footer.

Then the year he declared he fell hard out of the lottery because of questions about his toughness, size, etc. Skinny 7 footer who could play the post and shoot the ball but was a poor defender and rebounder.

No idea where he ended up but I assume Europe. He must still be pretty young cuz this was a few years ago and no idea if he played with Val. Might not even be the same guy but if there is another 7 foot D Mo from lithuania, that would be a crazy coincidence lol

I might take Thomas Robinson over Val. He's already got an NBA body, and is going to be a legit 20/10 threat.

It wouldn't be a surprise of the Bobcat's draft Barnes.

Donatas Motiejunas is the guy that was often compared to Bargs.
Soft 7-footer with the ability to play beyond the arc. But no rebounding or d.

He was drafted last season #20 after being in the top 10 of most mock draft boards.

I'd pass on this guy.

Did he ever play with / for / against Val ??

I was just wondering that - if he is a countryman and ready to come here - and talented and skinny - and Euro skilled....

Well our top 3 big men could end up being 3 tall Euro players.

Not an opinion - just speculation about a move

Amik who has a good Bball brain has us picking Rivers with Drummond gone Lillard and Lamb still available.

I know BC was quoted as giving "Rivers no guarentees".

I am not sure about Rivers. Talent sure but....he creates his own shot.. but we already have 2 that can play 1 (Bayliss) or 2 that can play 3 (Derozan).

Has Portland really promised him that the 6th pick?

Rivers will be an SG in the NBA and nothing else. Players like Bayless and Derozan should never be reasons to not draft someone else. They aren't good enough.

My biggest worry with Rivers is his shooting. He was focused on heavily at Duke being the only player in that starting lineup who could dribble worth a damn so his so-so FG% and 3pt% aren't too bad but nothing exciting. His weak FT% is concerning as well.

Nope just a mock draft - Drummond 6th.

I really would love to know what Portland is doing.

It looks like they are cutting anyone who can play PG (Felton gone for sure , Flynn as well sounds like). They have to want to address that in the draft but perhaps are happy to wait for the PG with the second pick. They also obvously want a big to protect Aldridge as a "at the cuspe all star".

Aldridge and Crawford are the two untouchables.

What they do with 2 picks impacts the 8th.

EDIT: Reports today say Crawford is NOT untouchable and perhaps not a part of Portlands plans... that makes some trade possibilities interesting...

I was focused on Iggy, Granger, Gay as the "targeted" vet Toronto wanted.

However Andreas, Jose are both prototype players as good fits for Portland assuming BC wants to take a chance on Crawford and his contract situation.

Is anyone else worried that Waiters is our guy, even if Lillard is on the board?

As we approach draft day, I'm getting more and more nervous that the Raps are gonna mess up.

If we do take Waiters, how will he impact the raps? I don't know enough to be honest, but feel that 8 is a stretch.

Pretty sure they're going to just go with the best talent. Read about BC saying that somewhere and something about how the team isn't deep enough to worry about stacking positions.

Is Waiters the best talent available at 8 vs guys like Lillard, Rivers, Lamb?

I don't want anything to do with Crawford. He's a chucker with a career 40% fg%. I wouldn't even take him for free.

Waiters is a beast. He's talked about as a combo guard with the potential to play point but I think he is a SG. He was the best player on a very good Cuse team. He is very creative at getting to the rim and is a strong guy who is not afraid of contact. He also is a good shooter with NBA 3 range. Cuse was a different team when he stepped on the court. There was so much hype on Melo and Joseph early on in the year but when you'd watch them play and Waiters came on it was always like "Who the heck is that guy?!!??" This guy can score in a lot of different ways. Not quite the first step that Rivers has but a better shooter.

There is a reason he got a promise from a late lottery team and is moving up the boards without working out for anyone. Even GS at 7 has him in the mix for their pick.

He's not my preference but I wouldn't be disappointed if we took him. He has the opportunity to be an impact player. Frankly if Lilliard is on the board I would not be happy if we passed on him but it wouldn't be that disastrous if we ended up with Rivers or Waiters. But again, if Liliard is there we should definitely take him.
