Default The 15 players invited to NBA Draft Media Day

" editor Jeff Lenchiner reports that the following players will be made available to reporters at NBA Draft Media Day, which takes place the afternoon before the actual Draft: LaMarcus Aldridge, Hilton Armstrong, Andrea Bargnani, Ronnie Brewer, Rodney Carney, Randy Foye, Rudy Gay, Adam Morrison, Patrick O'Bryant, J.J. Redick, Brandon Roy, Cedric Simmons, Tyrus Thomas, Marcus Williams and Shelden Williams. Typically, the NBA invites players who are expected to be taken in or just outside of the lottery. You'll note that these are almost the identical set of players editor Jeff Lenchiner has had listed atop his NBA mock draft for several weeks now. Of course, if you know, this should come as no surprise."

I love Hilton Armstrong but he can't even crack 10 points a game in college. I don't see him much more than a defensive specialist and a possible project in the NBA. He is athletic but if he ever becomes an offensive threat it will take a while.

Default .

You can be sure that there will be at least one player who will have a looooooong evening at the draft (there always is one). Of those 15, I guess it'll be Simmons. I just don't buy that everyone is really that interested in him. Yes, he has the physical ability, but he didn't do much in college last year. And unlike someone like Thomas, Simmons won't be able to play sf. As a pf, he is too slim, and didn't show much against good opponenets. He grabbed over 10 boards only 3 times, and only once against a decent opponent. Yes, he played well against duke once, but that was the only really good game of the season. This is only a guess, and I may be wrong, but I feel he will drop to late first round.

Armstrong is another possibilty, but I he is the only proved big man of the draft, and I think someone like Wizards could use him. He blocked over 3 shots a game in big east, which is a very nice stat.
