5 Melo would be close. But your worst two starters would have to be the best #4 & 5 in the league.

best player yeah skill wise... but not as a leader. If this whole Melo, Amare, Tyson stays intact,,, I think Tyson's gotta step up and be more of a vocal presence..

If Tyson can do that, the Knicks are definitely not overpaying him at all.

They wouldn't be. They don't need a young point guard like D-Will. A savy veteran will do enough. The one who looks like the overpaid one is Amare. He needs to find his game like early last season. That front court has the potential to be so dominate.. its crazy. If Tyson and Amare play like last season(and stay healthy)... and Melo is killer like always.. please... I give them atleast 2 finals appearances.

That's the bottom line. If you watch the Miami heat game, Chandler waved his arms around about 15 different times when he was right below the rim. None of the NY pgs saw him. The problem is no playmaker and I even think the Knicks can turn it around this season with Baron. He comes back and brings some stability and runs the offense better. But he also skyrockets Amare's numbers, to probably somewhere around 23ppg.

I also agree that 'Melo will probably not be the "Leader" but he is the best player on the team. Kinda like Pierce/KG in 08.

Yes you can... you can win with ANYBODY as your "best player".....

a Championship is a team accomplishment.... you need to just have the deepest team, with great chemistry, strategy, great coach and ofcourse focus, will to win...
