That's the worst possible scenario because we won't get a protected top5 pick in one of the best drafts in a while.

Also Mike D'Antoni is still here.

I should also add two heartbreaking losses against the Bulls and Celtics on top of that.

I didn't expect this even in my worst nightmares.
At first I expected us to be a 38-28 team. After the first struggles I expected us to be a .500 team.
But I couldn't have imagined the Knicks will be a 8-15 team after more than a third of the season even in my worst nightmares.
That's because you don't know much about basketball.

Even the biggest Knicks haters didn't see this one coming.

Even the people who always try to say something negative about the Knicks put us at 6th or 7th seed and above .500 record.

That actually isn't out of the question yet. It would be interesting if they pull that off. Obviously Mike Woodson won't accomplish it, so we'll have to see how they resolve the coach issue.

Have you followed this team the past 10 years....???

Only thing surprising at this point is Cleveland and Milwaukee being ahead of the Knicks in the playoff race.

Once the Knicks amnestied Billups without replacing him and no training camp I kinda threw this season away. In conjunction with a terrible bench and 2 very good players and a good center.

I guess if I thought those guys were superstars then I would feel the way most of you do. They're not so they cant carry this team.

The Knicks still can make the playoffs as an 8th seed.

Basically this. I knew going back to the Melo trade that the idea of the Knicks moving in the right direction under Dolan was a mirage.

We need to go 24-18 until the end of the season just to be at .500
It's certainly possible but obviously we need to start playing better in order to do so.

And I think we can forget about anything other than 8th seed.
All playoff teams are playing much better than us and they are also quite ahead of us (7th seed Celtics are 4.5 games ahead).

We can only hope we'll make the playoffs because we aren't getting that top5 pick.

We actually have started playing better recently. We just have to turn it into wins. I still think Baron Davis can help, if he ever plays.

I don't really know about that.

We always play well against elite teams so I wasn't surprised by our performance against the Bulls and Celtics.

On the other hand we played like shit against the Nets until Lin came in,that's surely disappointing knowing that we needed a bench player who didn't played significant minutes until that game to grab a close win against a shitty Nets team.

On the other hand it's nice knowing that we won despite Melo and Amare playing like total bums (one was shooting 3-15 and the other one spent half of the game on the bench because of the foul trouble).

You know who's the only positive so far this season ? TYSON CHANDLER
We said that he's overpaid and he probably is,just like almost every center in the league.
But he's our best and most consistent player this season. He's averaging a double double and plays hard every single night.
He has actually become a major part of our offense.
In his last 8 games he's averaging 14.6 points and 10.6 rebounds.

Josh Harrellson is another positive, some people thought he wasn't even going to make the rotation and he was our best bench player until he got hurt.
Iman Shumpert also exceeded expectations.

Amare was a disappointment but he's starting to find his groove. Melo was very good until the injury, since then he's been a disappointment too.
Fields has officially come back

Only player who was giving 100% every game and played consistently well is Tyson Chandler.

I know you didn't like the acquisition but he's our only star who met the expectations.
Melo and Amare have been a disappointment,Melo because of injury and Amare probably because of lack of a quality point guard).

You could possibly make a case he's been more consistent. BEST? No way. I'll take Melo on an off day over him. N stop calling him a star because he's not one at all.

You're probably right.

He maybe isn't a star but is a very important player on a championship team.
I don't see the Mavs winning a ring without him.

I personally like our core. We just need to be patient, fire D'Antoni as soon as possible and make some good signings with a $2.5 mil. exception and MLE next summer.
