He got Avery fired indirectly I suppose. But I would place most of the blame on Brook Lopez. If Brook did not get injured for two weeks, we would likely not have went on a 5 game losing streak. Deron took more of a scoring mentality during Brook's absence and it wasn't pretty. He was bricking everything. We wouldn't be on a 7 game winning streak if Avery was still here though.

Avery got himself fired for turning a team with one of the best point guards in the league into the slowest paced teams in the league and overall doing a shitty job coaching.

This. His play types were just overflowing with iso sets. No creativity, in a way, i think Deron got him fired.
