Re: Should Rubio Be on an All Defensive Team?
check out the grantland article about his iso defense. also, i don't think i've seen anybody cause rose so much trouble this season. rose has had off games and rubio didn't shut him down but he made it tough on him. rubio for 2nd team defense? maybe. wade, paul, allen, rondo and wesbrook will all probably go above him. i'd put him on the 3rd team for sure though if it existed. at this point, i think people just want to call his steals a fluke even though it's legit

no but would be kinda cool because i think superstars/all-stars get more of a free pass if their defense is just above average....

People underrating Wall.
Wall isn't close to the defender Rubio is.

Re: Should Rubio Be on an All Defensive Team?
I could make a good argument for him being 1st Team All-Defense if the season ended now. Some people are talking about too much hype and overrating. The hype is actually on the opposite side. Anyone who watches him play can see.
Rondo and Wade have been great but have both missed some time. I always make an All-Defensive 3rd Team because...well, there is no reason not to. But he, along with Allen, Lowry, and Paul, would be on the first two teams.

Re: Should Rubio Be on an All Defensive Team?
When he was first drafted and people were questioning if Rubio could play, the 2 things that were certain were Rubio would be a great passer and a great defender in the NBA. He's in the league for less than 2 months and he's already shown both.
Rubio was marvelous defensively when they played team USA years back. Rubio is going to be an all league defender year in and year out.

Nah, he's not popular enough, Rose, Kobe and Wade would be over him just based on their popularity.

Guess the only thing Rubio has to prove now is he can be an efficient shooter.

oddly enough he is tied with Demarcus Cousins for charges per game. Rubio has 21 charges through 25 games and Cousins has 21 through 24 games.
JJ Barea leads the league in charges per game with 1.3 per game through 10 games.
