Default Steve Francis or Speedy Claxton

Will the Hawks do a sign and trade for Steve Francis by giving up Al Harrington?

That would solve the problem at point guard, as well as give the Hawks another scorer besides JJ.

The problem is that when Josh Smith, Marvin Williams, Josh Childress come due for big contracts, Francis's deal will be there.

So maybe the Hawks will go after a lower priced free agent like Speedy Claxton, say 4 years, $16 million.

Speedy Claxton
Bobby Jackson
Mike James
Sam Cassell
Marcus Banks

Those are the top five free agent point guards (Terry will resign with the Mavs).

What other point guards are available via trade?

Boykens? How is he much different than Lue?

I would prefer Andre Miller over Boykens.

millers contract is steep. hawks just need to get better each year and not overpay or get cap locked. they also need better scouts. your point about re-uping rookie contracts is dead on.

i would say stick with what we got tbh...

tyron lue is not that bad of a point..he is no all star by far but he can usually keep the hawks steady and run the offense...

as a back up instead of royal ivey i liked the guy they had signed towards the end of the year (anthony grundy)..

starter: t lue
backup: a grundy

that is not that bad of a combination

----please god if the hawks sign a pg don't let it be m james----

--my 2 cents

Marvin Williams for TJ Ford would have been a nice trade for both teams.
