I'm not seeing how the Cowens thing is a dis. It sounds like he was trying to say, it would work about better for Kobe if he went to LA.

Am i missing something?

haha

If Dean Smith couldn’t entice Bryant to play for UNC, what chance did John Calipari and the Nets have of getting him to New Jersey vs. skipping off to Italy, which was the threat by agent Arn Tellem?
“Naw,” Kobe countered, “had the Nets drafted me, I would’ve played there and wouldn’t have tried to force a trade. I was 17, bro, I just wanted to ball.”
Oh, great, now he tells them. So, what would have happened had he become a Net?
“Calipari probably would still be coach,” Bryant said.

Wow, even Kobe himself tries to rewrite history. Guess he needed something to compete with the JLin Phenomenon sweeping the world right now. "Hey um, guys? I wasn't wanted by teams either, back in the day". Now I see where his Stans get it from.

Hornets only drafted Kobe because the deal to the Lakers was already in place. Otherwise they would of taken a big man.. high school Kobe at #13 was seen as a reach by Jerry West.
