I've recently meditated on the Great Toine's statement that there are no 4s.
He was right, and furthermore he was right in his thinking that one should always strive for the strongest weapon with the biggest warhead. Toine, like Ronald Reagan, knew that you have to build your arsenal and then unleash it on the opposition with no regard for human life.
The biggest weapon which was available during Toine's reign was the threepointer, cause it carries a 50% bigger payload than a mere two point shot. As I said, Toine knew his arsenal and he unleashed it on the hopeless opponents with abandon. But, because he was not only a practical man but a philosopher, he left us with with a haiku that would show the basketball and its association the way forward, upward, and beyond. He said "because there are no 4s" and this testament of his forethinking he started the siritual motion in the brains of his contenporaries and in generations to come.
Since Americans and Toine himself are products of the frontier and share the spirit of John Wayne, and because everybody everywhere is partly American, having watched the movies of John Wayne and even those of Bud Spencer and Terrence Hill, we all know the wagons must continue westward.
For this reason, event though there is no 4 yet, there can be. We can break down those walls and change the game of basketball. It's all in our brains. But because today we already have to envision and improve the world of tomorrow, we can strive to even outdo the daring thoughts of the Toine. While it is necessary to put the great philosophers on pedestals, so everybody can see them, stand in awe for a few short hours and contemplate their wisdom, we cannot allow these pedestals and not even the philosophers on top of those to stop our brains from moving forward and think the unthinkable.
WHAT IF THERE WAS A STRAIGHT UP FIVE POINTER?
A shot so awe-inspiring, that it could even make Ronald Reagan the Great himself hide his mighty Pershing 2 in shame? That would boost the game of basketball to Mach 4 and instant lift off?
So, this is the fruit of my thought, the banana of my brain:
- half court shot : 5 points
- dunk with the difficulty of a 540 reverse tomahawk or greater: 5 points
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
