Emperor Lin DOES NOT equal Tebow...stop it already
Honestly. Its becoming quite annoying.
Tebow was a highly criticized 1st round draft pick from a premier D1 football school. However he lacks the necessary skillset to even be a quality starting QB in the NFL.
But he is a winner.
Tebow either intentionally or unintentionally force-feeds his religion down our throats. He has his own prayer ritual that he does every game...he is essentially a priest who happens to be an athlete.
Couple that along w/ his enormous fanbase from his college days (where he is regarded as arguably the best college football player of all time) and you get the massive hype.
He came into the league with expectations of being the savior of the Denver Broncos (by his fans) but to much doubt by the analysts.
Lin went undrafted, with no fanfare, out of a lesser regarded basketball program in Harvard, got cut by two teams in the pros, and went to the D-League, all mostly due to lack of opportunity. HOWEVER, it is apparent he HAS the necessary skillset to be a quality starting PG.
Lin is religious but he's not "uppity" with it (if you get my drift), he just lives his life and doesn't appear to try to mold his followers/supporters into having his beliefs.
Couple that along with the rarity of Asians in the NBA, and the fact that he's energized and inspired the previously pathetic NY Knicks despite having Melo/Amar'e and you get the massive hype.
Only thing they have in common is their publicity by ESPN.

Lin deserve that publicity though. He puts together 109 points in his first four start that shit is linsane. He led the Knicks to 5-0 (the last one was a team effort, props to Imam). As much as I like Tebow, he only perform in the last two minute of the 4th quarter.

thats exactly my point...
Comparing him to Tebow is IMO not giving Lin his due credit.
Lin has earned his publicity, Tebow had his from the very beginning.
