Crazy news: JaVale McGee was not asked to participate in the Slam Dunk competition. He said he would've gone to ORL if asked. #wizards

Re: All-Star 2012: NBA Dunk contest participants announced
I was hoping for Alonzo Gee. He's been jumping out of the arena with his dunks this year.
my guess was:
D.Williams
Gee
P.George
DeAndre
Well obviously Shumpert wins, but i rooting for George

If true, I never, EVER understand this. Why in the world would the NBA choose to continually shrink the dunk contest down to such a minuscule level? From my understanding, there are two very competent dunkers who would have willingly joined the fold (McGee, Jeremy Evans). Why would you turn that down? What made six dunkers so insane?

Re: All-Star 2012: NBA Slam Dunk Contest discussion thread
The NBA dunk contest will probably suck compared to the amateur one last night that had LeBron and Serge Ibaka going crazy. Kobe also showed up at the end to congratulate the winner.

The winner brought Cedric Ceballos out and then did a blindfolded (of course he could see) between the legs dunk over 3 people
