Maybe we should just trade Pau for Derrick Williams and Picks
Okay so I have been thinking. We have a team that consists of 3 all stars. two of them getting older, one of them still very young.
if we keep letting guys get older, we won't get any helpful trade value in return. I doubt for some reason that the lakers will even let Pau retire as a laker. I feel like he'd either walk in free agency, or just retire.
Here are the positives if we trade Pau to minnesota:
1) We get a rookie who has been playing decently lately, he is someone that is expected to be great. By the time he fully develops, we will have a very very good star caliber player, to play along side andrew bynum, who has been excellent this season.
2) We get 2 draft picks to go along with our 2 other draft picks. That gives us 4 that we can think about using, and who knows, we can possibly trade up in the draft with those 4 picks.
I just don't see a point in keeping Pau Gasol if we have no chance of winning right now. If we don't win now, when do we plan on winning? We're wasting Pau's last good years. Its time to start rebuilding so that we can get good again before the CBA kicks in full effect.
