Default Replace 2001/2002 and 2002/2003 Jason Kidd with MVP Steve Nash

Could Steve Nash have led those two Nets teams to the NBA finals?

No way in hell. Nash always had stacked teams. If you give him a scrub team he would be doing similar to what he is now. Kidd is underrated to a fault in this board. Super Cereal.

Hes more than capable of replacing Kidd in ways. Hes better in the half court. But hes not as fast and that was agood bit of Kidds value to those teams....but the main issue is defense. The Nets were allowing 90 points on like 42% shooting. Im not sure Nash doesnt take too much from that defense. Even if you think Nash is better than Kidd was(I do not) you cant say the Nets underachieved. And they wouldnt have done any better with Nash. Arent beating the Lakers or Spurs. But for defensive reasons its at least possible they fall shorter in the playoffs. I suspect it would be similar results though.

Nash and Kidd are different.

The Suns teams that Nash won an MVP with would probably accomplish less with Kidd instead of Nash.

I would say there is a greater chance that Nash replaces Kidd on the Nets and get to the Finals than Kidd replacing Nash on the Suns and the Suns still getting to the WCF.

Kerry Kittles, Kenyon Martin, Richard Jefferson....that entire roster was tailor made for a penetrating PG running the show. Nash wouldve done wonders with those pieces as well.
