Re: Tell me Lin doesn't have more potential than any pg in the NBA
Lin is overrated. For how he is rated, he deserves all the "Lin sucks" posts. If I were asian I'd hate him because every time a moderately decent asian basketball player scores someone yells says "Jeremy Lin!".
Lillard destroyed him twice already. He even owned him in the clutch. Lin isn't even better than Sergio Rodriguez.

LMAOOO at all these asians trying to defend THEIR BOY!!
Lin sucks, bottom line. He is one of the worst starting PG's in the game and if this guy didn't have a green light to run the teams he'd be averaging 3/1/0 right now. Reading all these Linsanity posts is hilarious, this dude is a bum. And anybody who isn't asain will tell you Jrue >>> Lin. I'd even take Chalmers over Line for that matter, atleast he plays under control and doesn't fold under pressure.
Lin wouldn't be in the league right now if not for Linsanity, and in three years, he won't be in the league at all. Wouldn't even be shocked if the ROckets had him in the d-league towards the end of his contract
Re: Tell me Lin doesn't have more potential than any pg in the NBA
Lins got the most potential to be the most turnover prone PG in the NBA , thus,m hurting his team's chances at winning.. It wouldve been nice to see him learn under Jason Kidd but it wont happen and that will undoubtedly hurt his career in the long run

Harsh. Some of you guys are acting like he's been in the league for 10 years and is a veteran and this is all he's capable of.
It's really his shooting and confidence that are shaky right now. He's still dishing 7 assists a night with the youngest squad in the NBA. And before anyone says he should be getting 7 assists to Harden alone...Harden is a guy who is more comfortable creating his own shot. And with Mchale out, this current coaching staff is HORRIBLE...Houston's offense is just pathetic right now.
He rebounds well for a guy his size, brings energy to the floor and his TOs have dropped a LOT, which was his major criticism from last year.
Now, I admit he has NOT played well compared to the hype he got last year, but if you look at it from the viewpoint that he is basically an undrafted rookie getting his first real gig, I think he's doing ok.
He's a hard worker, his teammates seem to like him, and he has the physical talents of an NBA point guard. He can still blow by anyone when he wants...it's what happens afterwards that he needs to work on.
I think it would suit him well if people just forgot all about Linsanity and just started treating him like a rookie pg trying to grow his game. I know people are pissed off about his contract...but you can't blame the guy for getting all he can (everyone else on the PLANET would have done the same).

And how does that bullshit even makes sense?
So we Rocket fans should just forget about the Linsanity while knowing that he only got the contract he got due his play during the Linsanity run...
Without the Linsanity run he'd probably be out of the league, he is know the 2nd most expensive point guard in Rockets history and only 10 starting point guards in the league gets more money than Lin. Don't come with the nonsense about that we should see him as a rookie, a rookie is not getting 8.3 million $ per year.

Lin needs to stop sucking and bring his A game.
Well...take it with a grain of salt, but a few GMs came out and said that if he were cut from the Knicks, they would have picked him up. So even without Linsanity, he probably finds a home somewhere else.
Anyways...this is not about the contract. This is about the "Lin sucks", "Lin doesn't belong in the NBA" threads/comments you keep hearing about. Lin doesn't suck and he belongs in the NBA. It's still yet to be seen if he is good enough to be a starter, but he would easily be a great backup and have a decent career in the NBA. Just some people think he would be back playing ball for his church league if not for Linsanity.

It is about the contract and it's also about how he plays.
When he's one of the most expensive point guards in the league while being one of the worst, if not the worst starting point guard in the game it's a big problem. He didn't get that contract to be a bench player and Lin's contract may be become a disaster for the Rockets.

I don't see Lin as a valuable starter. He could be a good bench player but I don't want him running my team.

I'll admit that I loved watching the Knicks last season during Linsanity, I thought it was really fun to watch.
But as a Rocket fan I was so upset when they traded away Lowry for a draft pick and not only that, they didn't even try to sign Dragic. Instead they went out and overpaid Lin big time, I didn't think Lin would be this bad but I was more than sure that he wasn't on Dragic or Lowry's level so therefor this shit didn't make sense to me.
I guess it's a marketing move to get back the asian fans the Rockets had during the Yao era but people are forgetting that the Rockets couldn't fill the seats with peak Yao playing for them either so why would an american born player with Taiwanese heritage be able to do so, especially when they knew that Yao was one of the best centers in the game and that Lin at the same time most likely was just a fluke.
Now this stupid move just cost the Rockets their new starting point guard, Dragic and it also cost them big money. No one pays 8.5 millions for a back up point guard and this is not the first time an NBA player had a stretch of great games while only being mediocre after. Just watch Ramon Sessions, he beasted the league a couple of seasons ago during the last games of that season and after that he got a 16 million dollar deal over 4 years.. Lin getting 8.5 million is just retarded.
Re: Tell me Lin doesn't have more potential than any pg in the NBA
I (along with many others) told knew he was a scrub that just had a good run.. But all the asians were (little) **** riding him like there's no tomorrow. Can't believe there's still idiots (probably asian ) defending this guy who's getting payed 8 mil a year to be a bottom 5 point guard..
Signing Lin to that contract will go down as one of the worst mistakes in Rockets history.
