I know what the problem is with Melo iso. Guys stand around. There are absolutely no cutters which makes it too easy for defenses to key in on him. When Melo gets the ball in his sweet spot, the guy who originally gave him the ball needs to cut through the paint involuntarily. That kind of motion will stagger the defense and give Melo a bit more leeway to operate.

Why dont the Knicks run screens? Double picks? Back door cuts? Stuff like that?

Landry gets a lot of dunks off of back door cuts. They tried to hook Amar'e up on one too, but the ball was kicked.

I think their biggest problem offensively is not sorting out who the number one option is.

One of the great beauties of the game of basketball is that wrapped in the team context, it really comes down to a game of 1 on 1. Being able to beat the man in front of you, in the end is the most important factor in the game. Trying to "scheme" your way past the opponent will only get you so far.

Look guys,I love Lin but he's the main reason why we lost.

He started the game sloppy,Heat scored 8 easy points in the 1st half just off Lin turnovers.
But it's not all about the turnovers,it's how he created the offense. He basically didn't do anything,he was like Toney Douglas.

I think we should have run the offense through Melo tonight after Lin's horrible start. If we ran offense trough Melo then Lin wouldn't have had to face so much pressure and he could actually do something when the ball gets back to him.
Well, that goes on coach. Not keeping Amare involved also goes on coach.

The fact is,Lin played horrible. Many his turnovers led to easy baskets for the Heat,he shot 1-11 from the field and most importantly he wasn't getting any guys involved.

I know you all like Lin but it's time to admit that he lost this game for us.
Melo and Amare played solid. I really like what I've seen on defense from both of them.

We lost because a better team beat us.

There's really no pinpointing in this game, they better team won.

A huge plus in the game is even with the circumstances, the team fought.

Now they'll have plenty of time to do something they haven't had yet....practice.

THIS!!!

If you're going to unjustly give the guy all the credit for our recent success. You have to also lay some tough blame on him when he's a huge reason in why we lost. He got exposed twice in the last 2 weeks. I'm not saying we have to give up on him. What I am saying is, we need to all come back to reality. The past week has shown than when superstars want to turn it up against him, the difference in talent and confidence comes to surface. THIS is why I call people out when they say stupid stuff like "we don't need Melo or Amare" and "the team is better without them." This is the type of intensity and talent we'll see inthe playoffs. Players laying it on the line. Not the BS Wizards games and Raptors games. Every team coming out every game with a purpose. Is it time to go into panic mode and replace Lin? No. All I'm saying is, there was only a handful of Knicks who played like they belonged on the court with the HEat last night and Jeremy Lin wasn't one of them. And because of THAT, he's NOT an elite player. Therefore, can we finally stop acting like he is one? Can we rationally appreciate him for what he's done and rally around the 2 players that are? Can we stop begging for the FO to mortgage the franchise and build around a guy who had some phenomenal yet brief success? If it were up to some of you, Melo and Amare would be gone. If so, we would have been down 20 in the 1st quarter!

1 bad game and the Knicks lose. 1st half he was horrendous what was the score? 2nd half was he the total blame?

So how Lin goes the Knicks go. Not how Chandler, Melo, Stat, Shump, etc goes the Knicks go.

Why not just sit him for Boomdizzle. 8-15 before he got his chance what's the record now?

I said it in another thread but this game was suppose to be about the highest paid players making the difference for the Knicks to win. They hardly show up or affect games but people still suck on their tits.

Here is a reality check Knick fans even with those big 3 (Chandler, Melo, Stat) you really think they brought the Knicks back to revelance. Please the organization is still a joke to people. Just the other day I forgot who came to the garden but they said they would come in get a quick victory and see NYC now they have competition.

We now get back into forefront, people actually game plan for A KNICK, people want to come see the Knicks but some people want to kick the gift horse in the nuts. Ride this stuff out and show some respect to someone that actually turned the season around.

Bottom Line where was the Knicks going without LIN? You are in playoff contention people are talking about this team could be a top 3 seed now. Before this no one said Jack and Sh!t about this team.

We all can agree to disagree.
