I really like Dwight's game, I will always admire a good center's game. But there's just nobody interesting or talented for him to play aside for maybe Bynum the one or two times in a season that he's healthy... I would probably be a Dwight stan if he had more competition but:

*NBA expansions made it so there's not enough true 7 footers to go around (Dwight isn't even 7 foot tbh but at least he's got hops and strength).

*Constant rule changes designed to favor the small man game was made in order to compensate for the lack of big back to the basket centers.

*Drafting out of high school kills any chance of a back to the basket skillset - High School coaches rarely teach it.

*All the pressure to "gain weight" has turned the few large center's legs into ticking time bombs.

*It's been years since super star centers were abundant - the new generation doesn't try to mirror centers, they mirror Jordan/Kobe/Dirk and now Durant/Rose etc

The center position is practically extinct. The few talented big men that do exist, now prefer to be forwards instead of centers IE KG, Duncan, Nowitzki, Durant. Dwight just doesn't play anyone that could be considered good competition. There needs to be at least 8 dominate centers in the league before I could really appreciate Dwight's game - he's got game - he just doesn't have anyone interesting to play against.

Don't get me wrong i like Dwight and i want him to stay on our team (i have a howard jersey and t shirt), but i'm not going to have some crazy love fest stan with him. He is a frustrating player with how much more dominant he could be and with how he carries\acts while on the court. He doesn't need to whine and complain constantly like he does. He also doesn't have that flair and swagger that the other stars have.
I'm sure in the future we will have ricky rubio stans though with how flashy he is.

Dwight needs less competition. This year alone he's been dominated by the likes of Kenneth Faried, Hamid Haddadi, Greg Smith, Carl Landry and Anderson Varejao. The only centers he played good against are Gortat and JJ Hickson.

Those guys started their careers a long time ago... don't lump them in with Durant.

Garnett - 1995
Duncan - 1997

TD and KG fit right in to the label of POWER forward, and it completely suits their versatile skill set. In their primes, they were all over the place, utilizing their jumpers, midrange game, low-post scoring, and playmaking.

If anything, alot of great power forwards of today are being pushed to center due to a decline in great big men (Duncan, Garnett, Gasol, Bosh, etc). When that is happening, you know a position is at a weak point.
