they brought in some 33 year old MF named Peter Luccin who has played all of 7 games since 2009 which probably means they aren't going to pay the money required to keep JDG.

The only thing that he wished he could do now is a chance for redemption with England NT.

I don't know if you can really say something like "his days with Real Madrid were considered a failure" based on the success of Real Madrid as a team.

Beckham never was instrumental to Real Madrid's success, but he was never supposed to be either. He was a good starting caliber player, but never one of the premier players in the world or anything.

Well, since Beckham joined the team in 2003, Real Madrid hadn't won La Liga for three years in a row while the team still had shit loads of world class talents until Beck's last contract year. It clearly was not because of him alone but it looked like some kind of curse back then.

That was a bad stretch for Real, but no one was looking at Beckham thinking his tenure there in particular was a failure.

Speaking of Beckham in those terms is overstating his role and quality more than a little. It's like saying Bruce Bowen's first season with the Spurs is considered a failure because he didn't bring them a title. Beckham's far from a scrub, but his share of the load and responsibility wasn't exactly that significant.

Montreal Impact has officially hired former Swiss international Marco Schallibaum as the new head coach, replacing Jesse Marsch, who parted way with the club last November.

Marsch didn't seem to utilize players with quite good quality for a new MLS team well. The new imported coach should work better for Saputo's vision, which is about making a mini Italian team in Canada.

So now, more TFC coaching change. Paul Mariner was fired and replaced with former New Zealand international Ryan Nelsen, who was with QPR as a player and played last week's EPL match!

Aron Winter, Bob De Klerk and now Paul Mariner are all gone within two years. Thanks a lot, Jurgen Klinsmann!

Freddy Montero is official done with Sounders. He is like A-Rod of MLS, play great in regular seasons but never bring it during playoffs.

DC United also signed 20-years-old Brazilian striker Rafael as its DP, the youngest to ever sign a DP contract. DCU could put him under the new Young DP Rule that would save some cap space for the team also.

Okay, I just noticed that NY Red Bulls did signed Juninho, THAT 37-years-old free kick specialist Juninho.

FC Dallas got a new starting goalkeeper in Peruvian NT goalkeeper Raul Fernandez from Nice, replacing Kevin Hartman.

NY Red Bulls seem to finally find their man to replace Hans Backe, the former Portuguese NT Paolo Sousa, with Claudio Reyna reportedly as his assistant.

the one position this country is great at producing and we bring in a foreign player for more money than it would have taken to keep Hartman.

I guess Seitz wasn't getting groomed to be the eventual starter after all.

Pretty much this. Goalies are a dime in a dozen type of position and it's a waste on the cap space for getting a foreign goalie at that position. Much smarter on spending that money on a forward that Dallas needs and try out a youngster at Goalie or have a GK by committee type of thing. Red Bulls in 2011 signed a DP goalie and it didn't work but the next year we were solid in the net with a unknown rookie in the net(Meara) who done a great job before getting hurt and Robles stepped in fine as well.

Andrew Farrell went first in 2013 MLS SuperDraft to New England Revolution (originally TFC's pick) as expected.

TFC traded down its first pick to 4th, then to 10th, and ended up at 16th and got two Canadians Kyle Bekker and Emery Welshman in the process. Bekker is a nice pick since is said to be one of the best Canadian players coming off NCAA system for a while.
