Re: ESPN: Official Peyton Manning Will Not Return to Colts
Just feels weird to be awoken to the reality of the NFL for the majority of fanbases. Basically the entire coaching staff replaced, new front office, new #1 pick rookie QB. Even it is Luck with his absolute floor basically being "above average," it's never a given. Rookie GM, rookie HC. The fanbase LOVED to complain about "you only got one Super Bowl with Peyton Friggin Manning!" and that certainly has some validity, but it feels like it's going to be a big time grass is always greener scenario.
Just going to be really surreal seeing him in a different uniform. Probably won't really hit me until I see him in someone else's training camp.
Re: ESPN: Official Peyton Manning Will Not Return to Colts
Just occurred to me the last pass I'll see Manning throw in Colts gear was a grainy cell phone video filmed through a fence at Duke's practice field. That's part of what sucks, just wish I knew that Jets playoff loss was the last game.

I remember that. I posted the possibility of him being cut and he laughed at me and posted some weird typical Combine condescending comment. Whatever lol.
Back to the topic, Manning to San Fran would be sick. Sign a deep threat at WR and the offense is set (i think?)

This whole process, even leading up to all the hype about where he's going to end up, is going to be surreal. Since I was 11 when Peyton was a rookie so 98% of my memories as a Colts fan are with him under center. I vaguely remember the Jim Harbaugh years, especially the '95 AFC Championship Game. I'm already cautiously excited about the Andrew Luck era but not sure how to feel about Manning being with another team next season.

they are negotiating with Alex Smith right now in the midst of all this so i'd say tthat possibility seems a long shot.

shit...there is a LONG ASS THREAD in here somewhere where half the people that post here were calling me retarded for saying this day would come...and that OBVIOUSLY the Colts would have both Luck and Peyton on the roster at the same time...because they were going to pay Peyton $28m + salary just to mentor Luck lol.
as usual I was right
when I get some free time I might have to do some searching and bumping...

aren't you also arguing he won't play and probably retire and no one should take him?

I predicted he will retire...yes
I am not like the majority of fans that blindly assume that Peyton can just move to another team and system after missing a whole year and coming off bad injury and be the same old Peyton we all remember.
IMO the only teams that should go after Peyton are the teams that are going for it RIGHT NOW after being shown he is healthy....if you're rebuilding, I think you should go after Flynn or something else

We have a search feature. Free time? You spent how much time with your two recent posts? Not hard, football forum isn't incredibly long. Go ahead and bump.

If you're rebuilding, Peyton won't sign with you. Why would he want to go to an inferior team when he only has X amount of years left to play.

I agree
Yeah I am sure the Jags would sign Peyton, but he wouldn't go there...
money talks though...even for people you think are "above a pay check"
I know this wouldn't happen but IMO the best team that could sign Peyton is the Ravens...who's entire defense is old just like Peyton, and only need a good QB to take them over the top...Ravens should ditch Flacco and GO FOR IT NOW.
but I know that isn't happening...just the situation I think would be most ideal for him and them
