One of LA's own, Rasheed Wallace! Could you see any other team in the league hiring Michael Curry???? Frank has done a decent job with what he has. Ever since Joe D decided they needed to rebuild and traded Chauncey Detroit has just lacked the talent. With a top 3 pick this year they'll be back in the mix of things. They have some really nice young pieces. Detroit doesn't do a good job of hiring coaches. The last good one they had there was Carlisle but that was back when he was a jerk to about everyone and he rubbed management the wrong way. Regardless of all of that, Kuester was by far the worst of the bunch. Why should a team like the Lakers be going after a coach (even as an assistant) who did such a bad job, with a team that just wasn't very good?
Flip Saunders was so bad he lasted only 10 years for the TWolves?
His winning % was 57% or better in 5 of his last 6 yrs there including 61%, 62% and 70% from 2001 to 2004.
3 yrs in Detroit his record was 78%, 65% and 72% winning % enroute to 3 straight conference finals.

Blame the messenger Pathetic.....it really is.
Some clowns want to pretend that everything is fine.....come on guys grow a brain and put on the big boy pants.....it's not like we're talking about your momma
It's not just the media.....James Worthy is bashing Brown.....try asking Magic how he feels. I've got guys who played in the league and talk to these guys and they are not happy with Brown......no big mystery here.

Lakerfreak......there is no point in arguing with you....some people just don't get it and don't learn. Thankfully there are enough guys who don't believe it's raining when their boots are being p!ssed on

As for Brown......I have met him and have a player I coached for a long time who plays with his son, so I hear quite a lot about what he says and how he is as a person......I said I like, NOT love him as a person.
I spent a considerable amount of time with DFish in the past and he's right there with Magic as a person you have to love. Class all the way!!!!

It doesn't matter what team Brown coaches....dude is NOT a good head coach period!!! Not on ANY team. A smart coach looks at what he has and figures out how to get the most out of it.....not try to fit a square peg in a round hole.......you have to work with what you have. A classic case in point was the 1980 finals when Pat Riley put his rookie PG at Center in game 6 and won the title....he didn't whine about what he didn't have, he found the best option for what he did have. Brown lacks any creativity or offensive IQ.

Would I confront Kobe when he's missing and shooting wildly......YES!!!!
Brown doesn't have the balls, he's grateful that Kobe is allowing him to coach.......seriously....WTF is that???? How is that authority????
I brought that up to some of my guys and they laughed.

Except for the confront Kobe thing, lol. He has a pass to do whatever he wants.

There was a ton of talent on those teams that he coached. Of course they were going to have a winning record. Detroit would have another championship if they would have had a different coach...... Chauncey has basically said the same thing. They wouldn't have lost to San Antonio in 05 if Sheed and Saunders were on the same page.

Hmmm, even more in the news today:

Quote:
Tensions between Brown and his players hit a boiling point after Wednesday's game, as sources told ESPNLosAngeles.com that there is growing concern among some Lakers players as to whether Brown and his staff have the X-and-O wherewithal to fix a Lakers offense that is averaging its lowest per-game point total (94) since before the advent of the 24-second shot clock in 1954-55. lol I mean, we go back and forth in a ruthless manner. But I have no problem with it. It means that when we argue, we don't have to have a filter to hold us back. We can basically argue and speak anything on our minds with no fear of the other getting offended.

LMAO at guys on here trying to pretend this stuff is not real.......even the nerve of trying to say the thread title was misleading

Reality check folks!!!! It's 100% real..........Brown is fking pathetic, he's now saying that the offense in down because the offense is down across the league due to the condensed season......he's also saying that he feels the offense is working much better now. He's just p!ssing on their shoes and wants them to believe it's raining.......NBA players won't buy that crap......but we may have suckers......er.... people on here that buy into his garbage.
Where the fk is a pick and roll with Kobe and Pau????

Me calling Brown a moron is not an insult to anyone on here.....he's not your momma so don't act like Odom remember.....put on the Big Boy pants!!!

Notice when the lakers are winning, no body says anything about anything. No updates since then after they won their last two.

Im going to come down hard a bit on Kobe and Fish here. I think they're a bit childish. They want the triangle back because they were both starters in a system that they had been playing in for years that they are now completely used to.

It makes me feel like they only know how to play basketball in the triangle. If they are veterans, they should be able to adapt to any playing style. I still cannot believe that they would be doing something like this. The triangle isn't the only way to win a championship.

This is where you are completely missing the point:

This is the lowest scoring Lakers team since the invention of the freaking shot clock in 1955........1955!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And we have Kobe Bryant!!!!!!!
Obviously......Very, very obviously Mike Brown cannot coach offense worth a crap.
At this point the players would gladly welcome ANY offense that anyone not named Mike Brown is running........the Triangle would be the quickest easiest change to make.......but anyone's offense would do.
Can you understand this??????

Again.....every player on the team wants to dump Mike Brown's offense.....and probably Mike Brown too.
It's ridiculous to try to blame Fish and Kobe for Brown's incompetence!!!!!

Brown just got here and hasn't won crap.......yet you want to take his side over our proven winners
You have so much to learn about basketball......I'm glad you are doing well in school

As for the "Nobody says anything when they are winning" comment.......go look at the thread from the first Boston game which the Lakers won.....you will see that I was finally fed up with Brown's horrible coaching and decided to voice my opinion......that was following a big win.......this squashes your theory!!!!

I wasn't thrilled with getting Brown whatsoever. But, really, I think we need to give the guy a chance. Think about everything that has happened to the Lakers this season:

1. New coach(es).
2. New system.
3. Condensed schedule.
4. The sixth man of the year, Lamar Odom ... Gone.
5. Rumors of trades that are seriously messing with Pau's mind (and play).
6. A bunch of new scrubs on the bench.

Seriously, I think we need to give Brown a break.

Coaches change locations all the time and don't flounder so badly if they are a good coach, don't piss off every member of the team, don't run the worst offense in the history of a franchise....to the point that the players have decided to do their own thing, do appear to be so indecisive and unprepared as Brown has been. I don't know if you guys caught this in the times but Brown showed up one day wearing a GREEN sweater vest, when everyone said WTF, take that sh!t off, he said he didn't know the rivalry with the Celtics was that big of a deal???? He's old enough to know the history and even non Lakers basketball fans saw the history stuff watching the finals.....the networks really played it up....but Brown doesn't get it.
He seems clueless to everything around him......I could go on and on with things he didn't know but should've. He was a crap coach in Cleveland but having Lebron and being in the weak east covered it up until the playoffs.
Dude should NEVER be the head coach of anyone.

Condensed schedule......this is valid.

Loss of Odom........valid

Pau's mind was gone last season in the playoffs and hasn't been back....valid

Scrubs on the bench....meh....If he ever was consistent about rotations and playing time I feel these guys would feel better, be able to get into a flow and produce more. Goudelock a couple weeks ago hit back to back 3's shortly after coming into the game and was immediately benched having played only 4 minutes.....Fish and Blake were playing like crap and still he sat for a long time over 1 1/2 quarters then brought in cold and missed. Giving a hot shooter 4 minutes He has alienated all those guys.

No chance needed.....he can't coach.

"Coaches change locations all the time and don't flounder so badly"

Delusional fanboy
Really you're an idiot.

3rd in the West
2 games up in the Pacific Division
Best Home record in the NBA

Flounder?

He replaced Phil Jackson, there is not one coach in the league save Pops that can replace an Icon like Jackson,

No win situation with the fans, with the players with the media. Then not only is he replacing maybe the best coach in the history of the game, he gets a roster that is 50% new to the team 2 of which are rookies and he gets 9 days of training camp to whip them into shape before the first game of the season.

Lets top it off and have them open the season with B2B2B and 10 games in the first 13 days.

Yet here they are in a rock solid playoff spot, 7-7 in their last 14 games on the road after going 1-7 in their first 8 and a 18-2 home record and still delusional fanboy thinks Browns floundering as a head coach.

It was NEVER going to be easy

Welcome to ignore
