I can't quite put my finger on it, but you seem upset about something.

He wasn't making 6 million.

Dolan probably tired of eating contracts.

He's killing our team, and all the trade value any of our players have. That's worth a lot more than 6 million.

The money is already out the door. Putting Woodson as the HC doesn't mean he will make more money this year. It just means we might have a chance to salvage this season.

Oh, I agree, just stating a legit reason.

Who was our last coach not to get bought out?

As much as I don't like Dantoni, Woodson is not an improvement.

Did anyone think Frank Vogel was an improvement for Indiana last year, after O'brien started 17-27? Vogel finished 20-18 and turned the team around. They are one of the better teams in the east now.

Sometimes you have to make a move, just for the sake of making move.

Although I think he's a terrible coach but he's been put in a position to fail every year. His contract is up after this year so unless a miracle happens its a forgone conclusion he's done.

With that said....
This organization will look totally unappealing to any legit coaches after whats happen to D'Antoni and other coaches.

We've seen Woodson coach before though. If you fire D'antoni, then you're basically throwing the season away anyway. Frankly, the only viable reason for firing D'antoni now is to send a message and hopefully scare the players out of their comfort zones.

Purely as a question of management strategy, it might not be a bad idea.

If freaking Milwaukee Bucks score at will on you but you refuse to play your best defender (who isn't a bum on offense) YOU DESERVE TO GET FIRED JUST FOR THAT.

What was D'Antoni thinking ? This team is going nowhere with him as a head coach.
Maybe it would be best for us to miss the playoff,we would get rid of D'Antoni sooner and it would save us some embarrassment against the Bulls or Heat in the 1st round.

I said this before a few days; MY EXPECTATIONS FOR THIS SEASON ARE NOW ZERO

We're 2 games in front of the Bucks but with the brutal schedule we're having until the end it's nothing. For example they are playing their next game against the Raptors while we're playing against the Sixers. There's a good chance we'll lose and they'll win so our lead will cut down to just 1 game.

It took a miracle shot for the Bulls to beat them the other day.

Shit happens, move on.

Don Nelson was despised by the Knicks two most popular players (Pat Ewing and John Starks). If Carmelo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire, and Jeremy Lin start to hint at hating Coach D'Antoni the organization will make a move.

Personally, though I hate calling for someone to lose their gig the team needs a new voice on the bench.

1. I agree with Knickscity. Woodson isn't much of an upgrade. The fact that he knows better on defense but continues to sit back and watch us play D the way we do, just shows me he isn't the personality we need here.

2. I don't care if D'Antoni finishes out the season at this point. Just as long as he doesn't have his contract renewed. Even if Woodson is the answer, progress isn't going to be made THIS year. Let's face it. We need an entirely new philosophy on both ends of the court.

3.The Bucks aren't that bad of a team. They're even better with Bogut and we didn't have Chandler. We certainly should have won that game but it's not like losing to the Bobcats or Kings. They have good players and Scott Skiles is a quality head coach.

4.Sarcastic, I get what your saying about Vogel but I think theres one BIG difference between him and Woodson. Vogel was an unknown commodity. Woodson already had a shot and has built reputation around the league. Which leads me to my next point.

5. Look at the landscape of where the league is going. We'd be foolish not to follow. The good, young teams are made up of 2 or more stars, surrounded by some good young talent, and a veteran defensive presence. As for coaching, it isn't the big names anymore. It's fresh faces who've paid their dues. Guys who have been assistants, soaking up the nuances of the game. These guys know how to communicate with today's players. Tom Thibz, Vogel, Skiles, Brooks, even Spoelstra. We need to follow suit. My biggest fear is that we go out and try to get the biggest name we can find in the coaching market. The typical Knicks approach is to go get some big name who comes in with his old school priniciples, unwilling to bend. Then they clash with the players and we immediately wanna start making trades. We did it with Lenny Wilkens, Larry Brown, Mike D'Antoni etc. I DO NOT want Phil Jackson. I want a young, hungry coach with something to prove.

Not only this but Nelson put Anthony Mason as a Point Forward.

Yes, Anthony Mason was his "solution" to opening up the floor for everyone to play off of.
