Alex Smith is a b!tch. You're upset they turned their attention to Peyton Manning? Really? Get over yourself. Outside of last season you were labelled a bust, a joke. Play that undecided game but you'll swallow your pride and go back to SF if you know whats good for you. Best situation for you to look good.

that offer has been on the table for awhile now. I think Smith wants a simillar contract to flynn's probably more

That's why I said it remains on the table, meaning they haven't upped the offer at all.

How much more if Matt Flynn deal in comparison to Alex Smith. Its 3yrs $26mil only $10mil guranteed. 3yrs $24mil for Alex Smith, no guranteed figures. Thats bigger than the years/totals. Unless he wants way more than Matt Flynn and for it to be 3yrs close to totals he finds ridiculous. Then ok. Flynn hasnt done crap to deserve that deal so from that angle I can understand.

Say Alex Smith goes to Miami for more money. Who plays QB in SF?

Pats haven't signed an impact FA since Wes Welker. The latest yawn: Donte Stallworth returns. Because Ochocinco wasn't a big enough waste of a roster spot.

He'll play well for you guys if he's healthy. Don't count on him being healthy the whole season though. His Achilles is still very much questionable and the amount of weight on his upper body isnt good for a creaky lower half.

Hence the one year deal. I hope he balls out, he's an intense player. Just wasn't worth the long term commitment when it's questionable whether he cares more about bodybuilding or football and might not be playing for too many years

Exactly my stance on that scenerio. Smith redeemed himself with a nice year for himself and great year for the team but he's not good enough nor is his 'legacy' in SF to be too hurt over Peyton not to re-sign. Alex Smith was straight crap until last season. As many chances as he's been given, the guy needs to return and not make much fuss about trying to get one of the best ever

Yeah the injuries are definitely a concern. But we really had no choice given the thin FA market for safeties. He was the best option.

I'd rather just run with Matt Moore.

It's not that they looked at Manning. It's that no one told him, not even his agent who is Manning's agent also.

I think more than anything he's more peeved at the Agency than anyone.

I also feel like Harbaugh might not have had as heavy a hand in this all as you'd expect.

Harbaugh IMO would want no part of Manning. It's exactly the opposite of what he wants, it takes control out of his hands.
