Smith can't throw the long ball too well but it's still a great pickup. He won't drop the ball and he opens up mad room for Vernon. Vernon's career year will be this upcoming season.

He's not going to be nay kind of difference maker. At his best (as a Giants fan) you hit him once or twice and he kind of loses interest, and those were in big games. Even in his prime you could take him out at time and this is a long way removed. Plus he doesn't like to be hit, i don't see Harbaugh being in love with him.

Now 49ers need to sign Mike Wallace. Can't wait too see Alex and the offense with legit receivers who can catch the ball with their hands. I love Vernon, but he uses his body too much when catching. We need someone who can grab the ball in the air.

They are not going to sign Wallace, they got Moss to stretch the field, the exact role Wallace plays. Enjoy.

I just hope Alex can improve on his deep ball a little, as well as being allowed to throw into the end zone when in the red zone. Not sure if Harbaugh was puttin the leash on him, or Alex was just scared to throw INTs, but I was always wondering why they didn't try crabtree for end zone jump balls. He's not the tallest, but he's decently tall with excellent leaping ability and hands. Those attempts with Braylon were laughable. Now w/ Moss, there's no excuse for red zone failures. He can at least be what Plax was with the Jets last year.

Question for 9ers fans. Would you rather have Smith or Flynn?

What's there to elaborate on? Flynn is a borderline NFL QB at this point while Smith was an above average QB last year and was one game from going to the Superbowl. I'm not saying Smith is better QB because Flynn hasn't played enough games for anyone to properly to make a proper evaluation on, but there is no way the Niners would get rid of a proven starter (last year atleast) for an uknown player like Flynn. How can anyone make the argument that Flynn is a better option than Alex Smith right now? Flynn has started 2 games....

Back to the topic, I'm not thrilled with the signing. Moss took a year off and is in his mid 30's. I guess the Niners got a good deal but I don't think Moss will have much of an impact. I would be surprised if he got over 1,000 yards. Hopefully I'm wrong.
