He is a great player, who defends well.

16.9 points, 6.9 assists 1.9 steals for career.
In his prime about 23 points 9 assists for about 7 seasons. O Championships and 2 massive playoff flops (denver & LA both no. 8 seeds) until 06.
Better make room for alot of guards.

Yes, is the correct answer, not for his late career as a light role player, but all the years that he was able to carry the Seattle Sonics, his assists was in the top 3 for about 7 straight years, Multiple All star teams, All Defensive teams. People are just forgetting about him because of the last couple of years.

Read the post... I recognised his good years. I don't categorize him as HOF... I think he was a great player.

GP is a Hall-Of-Fame player. Second best PG of his era:
John Stockton
Gary Payton
Jason Kidd
Kevon Johnson
Tim Hardaway
All Time, he not on the Magic, Zeke, Big O, Clyde level; but is right around "Pistol", Lenny Wilkens, "Tiny" Archibald level.

Putting gp in the realm of 'Pistol' is the most ludricrous thing i've heard today
