$7-10 million?
Is this over the duration of his contract?
Because he's posted a PER this year of 14.4 this year and is nearing his peak, he is 26 (he had 14.5 last year and 13.0 career PER). He's shown no ability to do anything but shoot and hasn't even put up impressive numbers on awful team (but with a not bad pg getting him the ball). Any team that gives Nick Young contract numbers in this ballpark deserves contraction.

Yea. Billups will be back on bench in a few days. Imagine what Billups+CP3 could mentor this kid to become? Look what they have already done with Bledsoe who looks SO refined compared to last year?

Denver gives up Nene for knucklehead McGee?

I just read the post about this apparently freeing up the way to sign Chandler, but still.

I'm saying based on him wanting 10 mill and the fact that most players nowadays get overpaid. True value is 5 mill a year... but 7 mill a year won't be too bad.

They'd be the Hawks of the West.

They got a physical specimen 24 year old 7 footer.

Just too bad that physical specimen has a walnut for a brain.

Afflalo has been balling over the last 15 or so games. Somewhere around 20PPG, clutch shots, great D. I think he'll end up being worth the money, though it certainly didn't look that way early in the year.

He would be stupid to come home for like 6 months... to where he's always played well and been a proud LA boy... only to leave in free agency to a Sacramento Kings etc.

Lakers got rid of almost all their worst, worthless contracts, and should have some moving room this offseason, as they shed cap room with the Fisher trade.

Free Agents almost always get inflated contracts. Like CF said, not worth more than $5 million for what he does but with pressure from his agents you never know what will happen.

That's not updated to trade... but Lakers only saved 1 mill on these trades. So unless Lakers let Bynum walk.. they are looking at being maybe 2 mill under cap tops. Not nearly enough for Nick Young.

Clippers are going to be like 8-9 mill under cap just by amnesty Gomes, letting Foye walk.

Clippers almost got Courtney Lee... but Houston was asking for a lot more than Washington was for Sushi obviously. Same for Ray Allen. Sources are saying Clippers were VERY close to getting either of these players but the asking price of Bledsoe+pick was too much. I agree with Olshey's decision to get Young for Cook instead

I think they should've gone for Allen. You need to go all out these next two years to keep CP3 here and the Clippers would've gone further with Ray than Nick.

Thing is Allen while much better than Young... is 36. Young is more suitable as a long term fix if he buys in. Take a worse player and give up nothing... or give up two assets for a possible 1 year rental? No brainer.
