Warriors see Bogut as key piece of future
The San Francisco Chronicle reports:
Bogut was picked up with Stephen Jackson from Milwaukee for Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown on Tuesday. Stephen Jackson was flipped to San Antonio on Thursday for Richard Jefferson and a lottery-protected first-round pick.
The most important and certainly the biggest addition among the flurry of moves is Bogut. The 2005 No. 1 pick has averaged 12.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocked shots a game during seven seasons that have been plagued by injuries that he considers "freak accidents."
The Australian isn't expected to return this season as he recovers from a broken left ankle. He played in pain during 65 games last season, because of a broken elbow that cost him 13 games in 2009-10. In 2008-09, Bogut missed 43 games, including the final 31 because of lower back and left knee problems.
