Re: Hallelujah
Damn that last guy is a notch above the rest. Well sung here, a lot of artists just butcher it. Kurt Nilsen, that must be him.

Re: Hallelujah
I kind of forget how beautiful a song this is. It's also kind of mystical to me....how does a song like this exist...it moves me even when I'm not sure I understand the lyrics.

Yeah I feel the same. I don't actually get it. But the chord progressions are great, it's a very moving song when done well just from a musical standpoint.
A lot of emotion, a lot of power. It's awesome.

Re: Hallelujah
I think it's used in the wedding scene in Shrek, but song is from the 1980's and it's been famously covered several times.
On a smaller scale, it's like calling Johnny B. Goode, the "Back to the Future song."

Re: Hallelujah
The former editor of Vibe and Spin just wrote a whole book on the journey of the song Hallelujah.
I put up a post here
And Shrek is a giant reason for this song's popularity.
