Tim Tebow is being allowed to pick the team he wants to go to. He picks the trade. Jets or Jacksonville. His call.

It's official, Tebow is a Jet. Hard to believe if he had the choice of the Jags or Jets that he still chose the Jets, nevertheless the deal is done. Here's the deal:

Broncos trade Tim Tebow and a 2012 7th Round pick to the Jets for a 2012 4th Round pick and a 2012 6th Round pick, plus they agreed to pay half of the 5 million dollar kick back.

So, the Jets give up a 4th and 6th round pick and 2.5 million dollars, and in the process probably piss Sanchez completely off for a QB who will likely serve as their 3rd stringer and come in in different packages? Really? Nice one, Jets. Let the circus begin.

You remember how once a season Ryan would **** around with Brunell getting reps with the first team? If he does that with Tebow Sanchez will have to take that seriously. A theory for you though: Ryan genuinely doubts Sanchez and has brought in someone for whom he is genuinely willing to bench Sanchez.

if he was going to do this he might have wanted to bring a QB in who could actually be a starter on the team he has. Just a thought...

And what has Sanchez done that rates him in a different class than Tebow?

For his 1st year of starting as a QB Tebow has played much better than Sanchez did his rookie year..

A lot of things. Sanchez is much better than Tebow. Not even debatable.

Tebow isn't here to compete for a starting job. He's here to add diversity and unpredictability to the offense.

Also, the Jets JUST signed Drew Stanton to back up Sanchez, Stanton is one of the better backups, now he wants to be released or traded.

I just don't understand what the Jets are trying to do here.

And I'm saying Ryan may view Tebow as a possible starter. 1 bad game, maybe one bad quarter, maybe even 1 interception and the crowd is going to start chanting Tebow's name loudly. Ryan has to realize that, and you don't put Sanchez under that kind of pressure for nothing. At least you shouldn't. But they're spending millions and gave up some lesser assets. Tebow isn't an ordinary reserve in that he's going to have far more fans than the starter and those fans are going to be loud. If Sanchez doesn't play consistently good football he's going to get benched. I wouldn't handle Sanchez this way myself but Ryan has never been sold on him.

That statement is bullshit (from what I just seen on ESPN) - says Tebow wanted Jacksonville, but Jets trade was better outcome for Broncos.

how so? They both stumbled into the playoffs, Sanchez (frighteningly) had better stats, and when the Jets finally lost a playoff game, Sanchez played ok while Tebow was extraordinarly bad.

Tebow needs the offense tailored to him, the Jets offense is not. Basically they created a QB controversy where the backup will probably be more popular but less succesful.

Great move. Especially for a team with multiple holes all over. Backup QB was the position they need to fill.

People outside NY probably don't get it, the Jets wanted attention. They like attention. They also have a ticket sale problem right now (go check to buy tickets and see how many seats are open). This is a publicity move that they hope works out ok. If it does, great. If not, well shit - you noticed them right?

I agree with that Sanchez is more of the prototypical QB in a sense of being a pocket passer but Sanchez his first season was atrocious. He did play well in the playoffs but he lost that team numerous games in the regular season due to turnovers alone. If you think Tebow got carried by his defense than Sanchez is just another story.

Mark Sanchez 1st year starting:
63 QBR, 53.8% completion, 2,444 yards, 12tds-20ints

Tim Tebow 1st year starting:
72.9 QBR, 46.5% completion, 1,729 yards, 12tds-6ints

Stats are comparable and Sanchez isn't a very good QB at this point. He can't handle the NY media and he lets the pressure get to him. Tebow is just as good as a game manager Sanchez is. It's going to be a make or break situation for Sanchez. He's either going to get a fire lit under his ass and become a good QB or he's going to fail miserably.

I would take tebow over Sanchez

they're both fairy incompetent as passers but at least tebow doesn't throw INTs and he's awesome in the run game
