Tebow also gives them that wildcat player they were missing since Brad Smith left.
If the Jets signed a QB like Kyle Orton everyone would applaud the move but since it's tebow..
1) The Jets have no cap space practically and a lot of holes to fill. And they spent cap space and picks on Tebow. The Jets need OL, DL, S, WR and RB help. Not, need to improve those positions, need real help. (DL more needs to improve.) They have yet to do so. Is every one of their draft picks and waiver wire acquisitions going to pan out great?
2) Tebow's fan base is so huge and fervent that it's almost going to push him into the starting position. It did in Denver. They got rid of him rather than keep him because he wanted to start, and they didn't want him to be a distraction to Peyton Manning. Sanchez is not Peyton. He has no chance to hold Tebow off. There is now a huge faction of the Jet fan base that are not even Jet fans, and who want Sanchez to fail. How is that a good dynamic? You are right, Orton would not have caused this problem.
3) This thought the Jets will have Tebow in this part time role as Wildcat QB is laughable, having two offenses does not work, Tebow does not want to be the part time QB, and this "need" for the Wildcat goes against the fact he Wildcat has been rendered all but ineffective now that defenses have seen it so much.
Did i miss where Denver had this dynamic offense that was so much better than the Jets?
The Jets have a bad locker room and a coach who doesn't really understand offense well and they added a person to it that makes the offense far more complicated and the locker room dynamic even more complex.
The Jets should have plugged the other holes all over, got some better linemen, and if they were in love with the wildcat, draft one of the RB's or QB that would have easily been available with a late pick that could have done it without shattering their starting QB.
