Default is there anyway the raps can land themselves andother top 10 or so pick in this years

draft?

obviously without giving up bosh, charlie, mo pete

maybe, i would consider moving joey graham and the rights to roko ukic (maybe #56 pick aswell) for another top 10 pick this year so we can get marcus williams

what do you lot think?

obviously roko has huge upside but hes yet to play in the nba, and graham has showed a lot of promise but hes behind charlie in the pecking order. i think if we wanted to win soon we should trade for marcus williams have our PG position solved

so im just saying maybe we could trade #1 and #36 to atlanta for josh smith or josh childress and #5 (dont know why, maybe theyr'd want tyrus thomas or soemthing)

then trade graham and ukic and #56 to houston for the #8 pick, then grab marcus williams leaving us next seaoson with

marcus williams / jose calderon
mo peterson / josh childress
charlie V / Bargnani
Bosh / Humphries
Nesterovic / Sow

I doubt bargnani will be there at 5, or Marcus Williams at 8.

Could possibley use James in a sign and trade to get another #1, but not sure if any team would want to do that.

I saw this on another board:
Sow + #1 for Brevin Knight + #3 (Bargnani)
CV + Graham + #56 for Nocioni + #2 )Aldridge

Knight/Calderon/Ukic
MoPete/(Denham Brown/James White?)
Nocioni/Bargnani
Bosh/Humphries
Nestorovic/Aldridge

That is making some major changes though. I haven't really decided on if I like it or not. The guy who posted it said that Aldridge can steadily improve as a reserve and then maybe eventually take over the starting job around all-star break or even the start of next season.
What do you guys think?

Ok here's how we get another top 10 pick.

First trade #1, Alvin Williams and a filler for #4, Jack/Telfair and #30/Outlaw. Whatever combination we come out on top and select Bargnani regardless. I assume it would be Portland 1. Morrison Chicago 2. Thomas of Aldridge Charlotte 3. Gay then Bargnani or Aldridge would be avalailable. Then we could send Outlaw, Peterson and #36 for a pick around 6-10. Then we could select Brandon Roy, Rudy Gay, Marcus Williams, Rajan Rondo (whoever out of these is left over).

Ideal scenario
PG-Ukic, Telfair/Jack, Calderon
SG-Roy, Graham (not exactly a 2, but he could play spot minutes)
SF-Charlie, Bargnani
PF-Bosh, Humphries
C-Nesterovic, Sow

That would be an unbelievable lineup and if we got Roy then Bargnani's scoring wouldnt be necessary and we could take Aldridge instead. Now that is a stacked lineup.

I think you are under rating the skill level of Andres Noicioni, he is a tremendous basketball player and would immediately be our starting small forward. As well, we would get LaMarcus Aldridge for Joey Graham, which is obviously a tremendous upgrade since Joey Graham simply didn't prove much last year, he struggled and found himself lost at many times. We lose the #56 pick but that would probably be used on a European project who would just stay overseas.

I would seriously consider that deal, it accomplishes alot of things, losing Charlie Villaneuva hurts, but Noicioni fills the gap immediately. Obviously though, this deal ultimately has about 1% of substance and has relatively no chance of happening, so it's kind of pointless to analyze it too indepth.

Remember you can't sign free agents until July 15 or something.

my bad... I thought we were trading our #1 pick in that trade as well... I just re-read to make sure... I still like Villa over Nocioni...

We don't move our #1 pick which is why this deal is so attractive. We end up with both the #1 and #2 picks in the draft, which is key. We can address basically any need we want with those picks, and the only thing we would have to do is give up Joey Graham, a meaningless pick that has little to no chance of making an NBA impact and swapping Charlie Villaneuva for Andres Nocioni.

Both Nocioni and Villaneuva got nearly identical numbers last year, 13 points and 6 rebounds approximately. You probably favour Villaneuva because you've watched him play more, have become a fan of his personality, and admire his work ethic. You may also favour him to Andres because he is only 22 years old while Andres is now 27 years old. However, it should be noted that Andres Nocioni is a vastly superior defender to Charlie, and that should definately factor into any decision regarding a possible swap. Andres would definately improve our defense dramatically.

Anyways, like I said, this trade has zero substance behind it unless a creditable site begins talking about it as a possible rumour. I guess it is still fun to talk about though.

Not necessarily watched him more. We've seen him for one season. Even though Nocioni is a hard worker and would love to see him in TO, Charlie has the better upside between the two we could potentially be talking about all star in a few years if he keeps developing. Nocioni has seem to almost have hit his ceiling.

Otherwise it may turn itno one of those draft day blunders like Robert Traylor for Nowitzki.

When looking at the talent of the Eastern Conference Forwards, I doubt that Charlie Villaneuva will become an all-star unless he breaks out for a huge year. He would have to pass the likes of Paul Pierce, LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Jermaine O'Neal among others to make it as an Eastern Conference Forward. At this point it doesn't seem very likely.

As far as the possible swap of the two, I think you are forgetting about the other part of the deal, which is the most important, that is Joey Graham and the #56 pick for the #2 pick. This is where we gain a clear cut advantage, a much bigger advantage then the one that Chicago may gain by acquiring Villaneuva, though I am not even sure if they do, Nocioni may be the better overall player, when you factor in that his defense may negate the potential of Villaneuva, and the fact that both are young at 27 and 22 years old respectively does not hurt either player.

Anyways... My Two Cents
