A few more incredibly nasty pitches from this year

Andrew Miller slider:

Chris Sale slider:

Yes, that pitch hit him, but he still struck out on it.

Yu Darvish curveball??:

The Phillies just traded Jim Thome to the Orioles, although it's not yet known what they have received in return from the Orioles, more than likely cash or a PTBNL.

EDIT: The Phillies will receive Catching propsect Gabriel Lino and Pitcher Kyle Simon for Thome. The Phils got a good return for Thome, Lino is a pretty well regarded prospect and Simon is a pretty good prospect as well, both of them were top 25 prospects for the Orioles before the season began.

This one might be my fave of the year. Batter reaction/expectation adds to the effect.

Carlos Lee is not waiving his no trade clause for a trade to the Dodgers.

I don't understand why. His career is at the brink of being over and I wouldn't care as much platooning with Bobby Abreu at a chance to go deep in the playoffs.

Yeah I guess he hasn't denied it yet, but said will like to have a decision on it tomorrow. Either way the Dodgers have pretty much shrugged their shoulders and said they're going to get someone anyway.

Edwin Encarnacion, a gigantic All-Star snub.

Partly due to the "one player per team rule" (Billy Butler) and partly due to sheer stupidity (Adam Dunn?!?!).

The Braves have signed Ben Sheets to a minor league contract.

I would love to see Sheets have a successful comeback, he was absolutely one of my favorite pitchers to watch and had a few years with the Brewers in which he was absolutely dominant, his 2004 season was incredible (he has a 2.70 ERA and he had 264 K's and only 32 walks)

The hitter's reaction is about all that's impressive of it. That pitch should have been hammered.

How late that slider from Miller broke was nasty.
