our bull pen is so terrible. we need our starters to go 8 and use papelbon for the 9th.

Yeah, both loses came when your starter couldn't go more than 6.

It was nice to see some of our hitters get going today tho. Pedro went yard, Walker finally got a hit, and McCutchen went 3 for 4 with the game winning hit.

i think they could physically still go longer i just think charlie wants to limit them early. like how he didn't let doc get the complete game when he only had 92 pitches.

Yeah, that's what I figured. No point in overworking your aces in the first series of the season. He probably wants to get a good look at the bullpen early on too so he can determine who he will rely on for the majority of the season in the set-up spot.

I didn't realized the Rangers made a statue tribute in front of their stadium for the father fell to his death trying to catch a ball for his young son last year.

I remember seeing that video, it brought me to tears.

Reds take 2/3 from the Marlins. Solid start to the season, but Dusty Baker nearly cost us today with his decision to send Bronson Arroyo back out for the 7th inning. His ERA post-6th inning last year was brutal. Should have had someone else in there.

A lot of Marlin fans are already jumping ship saying this team is the same old Marlins and won't finish above .500. Yes they're 1-3, but the Phils are 1-2 and the Braves are 0-3 because its only the first week of the season.

Zambrano looked really good out there aside from his first inning. JJ is the only starter so far that actually looked bad. The offense has woken up the past couple games and Ozzie's running philosophy is already showing its worth.

They lost because Bell pitched like shit and Hanley showed some of the growing pains we've come to expect from his move to third. Those mistakes will hopefully grow fewer and further between and he's already made some damn good plays there.

Without Stanton this lineup looks about half as good as it usually does.

Just realized LoMo is out too. Both with knee problems that have bothered them since spring. Very ugly looking lineup today.

Did the Phillies seriously send down Dom Brown again? They're keeping Juan Pierre over him?? Talk about screwing up a good young player's development. He was already showing some good on-base skills in the limited time he was up before and Philly could damn sure use all the offense they can get.
