Cutch just isnt the kind of hitter who would thrive in HR derby. Glad he got the chance and hit a few out tho.

ahahah matt kemp is NOT a home run derby type hitter. all of his power is to center/right field. just doesn't work when you're trying to pull everything.

Why are they booing Robinson Cano so hard?

Roars erupt when he gets an out?

EDIT: NVM...its cuz he was the captain of the AL squad and didn't pick a home team guy (KC guy).

Cano goes 0fer. Royals fans really that upset because he didn't pick Billy Butler?

I didn't even know Kemp was hitting tonight. He's still "hurt" so I guess him hitting just one homer isn't a big surprise, but he's also not much of a HR Derby hitter anyway.

Tigers enter the break on a 5 game winning streak, Castellano is MVP of Futures Game, Fielder win the Derby, and Verlander to start the big one.

That's all well and good, but you're still 3.5 games out of first and every pitcher on the pitching staff not named Justin Verlander is a big question mark.

Oh noes! Three and a half behind the mighty Chi Cox and Indians..

And there's no cap and Illitch is rich; who gives a shit about that contract in 5 years. Pizza! Pizza! makes that a non issue.

Game is about to start, but I have to say that the HR Derby and actual game have the worst commentators that I just dread listening to in Berman and Buck.

If you aren't already doing it, this could make the game more fun.

I've got three in the same column on my NL card already with the Melky hit, Braun hit, and NL double. On my way to a fourth in the column if the NL draws one more walk and would be a Derek Jeter strikeout away from getting five in a row.

Verlander got rocked in the 1st. NL batted around, Braun had an RBI double, Sandoval had a bases-loaded triple, and Uggla had an infield hit to go up 5-0.

Good call going with Verlander, Washington.

NL domination. Giants players came through, MVP will be between Melky and Braun who probably should've had two triples.
