OP as in me or who he was quoting? I've had the unfortunate displeasure of being a Fish fan since I can remember watching beisbol and nothing else has ever quite tested my patience like this

I don't regret trading away Dominguez. Dude is never going to be a major league hitter. In a way I'm glad that ownership saw that the team wasn't working and decided to make some changes, but damn they might've gotten carried away a bit. It's a sad thing when I've been going to A's games to lessen the blow of being a Marlins fan.

Apparently the A's and Marlins were close to a Hanley deal, the Marlins told the A's they would pay nearly half of Hanleys remaining contract for a couple of minor leaguers, but the A's held off, then the Dodgers swooped in and offered to pay it all.

Now they they should focus on keeping Headley long term, or moving him at the Deadline.

Yes. The Pads weren't going to attract a hitter like Quentin in FA. It's a good get.

No @ Headley. There's no pressure to sign him long term before the deadline. Don't force a deal based on that. Tex, Nym, Det, Tor, Stl, Tb, Sfg might be the only teams who are clearly better at 3b. That's a short list. I'm in favor of trading him since I think he has really good value. He shouldn't be traded before the deadline unless the offer is exceptional. They have 2 more years to decide what to do with him after the 31st.

Hanley trade: Eovaldi is a one pitch guy who will probably find his way to the bullpen very soon. Why the Marlins FO watched him slowly bleed out his incredible value from the time a trade was rumored 1-2 years ago, I don't quite understand. They had an emerging star with gcs and a ton of money to spend in FA, so that "moving into a new stadium" argument seems awfully weak. It was shortsighted like much of what else Miami/Florida has done when they aren't ripping off the Chicago Cubs.

Reading that JJ is unlikely to get dealt and Lee is probably next to go. Don't know what he can possibly get us in return, but we have a gap at 3B now and I'd probably rather have them do JJ for Olt.

If JJ is dealt then the only returning starters we'd have are Nolasco and Buerhle

Wow, Blue Jays also join Marlins' garage sale, reportedly interested in Henley Ramirez and Josh Johnson.

thats unfortunate. A's can really use a shortstop with a big bat. they're playing great ball right now though

It's ridiculous that Trout leads all of MLB in WAR, wRC+, wOBA and steals at age 20.

That's gotta be unprecedented at his age. It might even be unprecedented in MLB history?

Nice to see teh Reds put together a nice winning streak right after losing their MVP. Grant it, not against great competition, but much needed wins in this 3 team N.L. Central Race.

Chapman has been amazing since having those blown saves...

Chapman since his last blown save/loss...

12.1 IP
0 ER
4 Hits
3 BB
28 K
0.00 ERA

Right now for the season he has 47 IP and 90 K, just crazy. Dud could end up with around 150 K as a pure reliever this season.

Pirates finally call up Starling Marte and he is slated to make his first start in LF tonight.

I don't feel very good about our chances of winning the division/wild card if McDonald continues to struggle tho. At least Wandy Rodriguez can kick Correia out of the starting rotation.

and believe me, most of us Reds fans are not very happy about that

Victorino is having a down year, but he would be a hell of a pickup for us.

Do you feel optimistic that you guys are gonna get back in the race?
