It's looking like Segura and two AA prospects are going for Greinke. I'm confused because the Rangers could've easily beat that and Greinke was supposed to be their number one target.

He was never Texas' number 1 target.

Who is?

Good get for the Angels and the Brewers, Brewers get their SS of the future who is big league ready, one of the arms has to be Hellweg and maybe Ariel Pena.

The Brewers receive Jean Segura, John Hellweg and Ariel Pena for Greinke

The Brewers definitely didn't receive the type of package that they gave the Royals for Greinke, but it's an pretty decent deal. Surprised that Garrett Richards isn't part of the deal, though.

Honestly I'll be surprised if they get a pitcher. If they do, it'll be someone who's under control after this year ala JJ.(but they aren't giving up profar let alone profar plus for him like the marlins are supposedly asking)

And I'm fine with that. I'd really like us to get a bat and cut Michael young. He's just terrible.(I'd try to see if someone would take even a small part of the money he's owed though)

That's odd because pretty much every other report coming out has said otherwise. I figured they just didn't want to budge on Olt because Greinke might just end up being a rental.

*edit* Just read that the Brewers wanted Perez as opposed to Olt or Profar and the Rangers passed on it.

On another note, the A's/O's game was a crazy back and forth affair. A's win with a 6 run 9th though.

Ben Sheets was good again. That's three starts, three wins, 18.0 IP, and just one earned run. Wasn't too thrilled on the signing and giving him a shot but, so far, it's definitely paid off.

Rockies just traded Marco Scutaro to the Giants, no word yet on who the Rox will receive from the Giants for him.

link

edit: the Rockies will receive 2b Charlie Culberson from the Giants for Scutaro.

It'd be nice if the f*cking Nationals would lose a couple or three in a row. Anyway....Braves took the first two from the Phillies. We got the good Mike Minor tonight, which is a change. It'd be nice if he shows up more often down the stretch.

Astros have lost 12 in a row after tonight and they're 2-24 in their last 26 games; back in 2011 form I see.
