So the Rangers are going after Lee again? Overrated. Besides 08-09, first half of '10, and the '11 season, what has he done to prove he is an elite pitcher worth 20+ million a year? Take those 3 and a half years and his career ERA is 4.48. Also, 61 of his career 120 wins happened in those 3 seasons. 10 year pitcher getting paid for 3 years, not worth it for the next 4 years especially given the fact that he is 33 years old.

So Cliff Lee has had 4 great seasons in a row. 08, 09, 10 and 11 he finished up the entire season as one of the best pitchers in the league each time. He's having another good season right now as well (athough not as great as the previous). How is that not enough to justify trading for him? Talk about ridiculously high standards. I think my brain just melted a little bit.
Hoping the Cubbies can shed Dempster and Garza for youngsters.
Don't know what happened between the Braves other than Dempster saying or hinting he didn't want to go to Atlanta right before it appeared a deal was in place. That would've probably landed the Cubs Randall Delgado and another B type pitching prospect.
