Stanton missed the first six games of August (and was rested a couple more), but has still put up: 7 HR and 15 RBI with a .313/.346/.833 line. Not too shabby.
He missed about 5 weeks of the season, but has managed to climb back to a tie for third in the NL in home runs.
Roger Clemens is signing with the Sugar Land Skeeters.
His scheme is probably to see if he can get the Astros to let him pitch an out or so this year in September, in order to kick back his hall of fame eligibility back another 5 years.
The way the data was presented. Instead of restricting it to games Darvish actually pitched in (counting TEX relievers, opposing SP + RP, rough estimate a 3000 pitch sample.) that link measures him against every other strike zone, from every other mlb game he was never a part of.
The Ranger offense is profiting off that strike zone too. A big difference though, Yu can still pitch middle-in and miss bats/get outs while it's rare the opposing pitcher will be able to do the same. How effective would you expect Nelson Cruz to be if an umpire was liberally calling the lower outside corner? Texas stands to lose a lot more than they would gain.
